IMO, Justin Turner is Tommy White's MLB comp.

Tommy needs a lot more offseason work at the 3B position and needs to probably drop 15-20 lbs. to improve his infield agility.

He’s a DH at the next level. I know the only way he came to LSU was playing third, but he’s a liability there and that’s being nice.

Man the guy makes one bad throw and now he’s a liability... should probably just DH him and take Beloso or Travinski out the lineup... yeah great idea

He’s been a liability all year. He has a .833 fielding percentage. That’s incredibly bad. For comparison Jordan Thompson had a .894 fielding percentage last year.

Jay clearly worked with Thompson this past offseason, which helped him tremendously. I suspect he’ll do the same with White before next season.

I’m not saying he won’t improve, I was just pointing out to that guy that White had be bad defensively all year. It’s not just because of one bad throw.

just hustle to first base please, because today late in the game he did not. I don't know how hard Justin Turner runs out grounders

Is he an all-American 3rd baseman? Absolutely not. But a liability? Nah. He’s serviceable at 3rd. He’s made some great plays and some bad ones. Typically makes the routine play. That’s all you can ask for with that bat.

He just needs more time on task. In HS/Travel ball he played all over 3B/1B/OF. It's the first time in his young career that he's been locked in a full time position.

He doesn't have the best feel for the 3B position yet. To be fair, most of LSU's infield is makeshift.

So they haven’t been practicing all year? This isn’t travel ball.

They might vaguely resemble each other physically but have drastically different styles of play

Practicing and playing are two different things. And IMO its more than just practice, he's not in proper form to play the 3B today, but where else are you going to put him.

Jay will share the MLB scouting feedback this offseason, and I believe he'll be much improved 3B next year. Same thing with Jones at first.

Thatcher Hurd was all-world in practice.

If you don't know who JT is, just say that. I never said anything about style.

They're both around the same size, they're clean up power hitters that generate tons of RBIs, and play the same position, 3B/DH.

I don’t think Jay does anything defensively with the guys. He’s an offensive coach.

First, let me state that Tanks is a stud at the plate and this team would be much worse without him; however, he is currently a liability at 3rd. He has a lackadaisical approach that he needs to improve on. The bad thing is your second baseman is probably even more of a liability defensively.

The entire infield is a liability, but you have to make sacrifices to get the best bats at the plate. Unless you fancy Nippolt and Merrifield playing every game.

He probably is a DH at the next level, but I don’t agree that he is a huge liability at third - not in college baseball. He is a little below average, but so is our shortstop, our second baseman, and our first baseman when Morgan is in LF.
