Why is Tom Mars so adamant about calling him out while his client Chambliss is ineligible according to the NCAA?

I've been saying that these players won't play because the legal risk isn't worth it. I guarantee that LSU leadership is hearing the same thing from its counsel as what Tom is saying in his post.

It would be retarded to have a roster that can get you in the playoffs and then find yourself sitting at home b/c you played a 2nd-string TE and backup DL.

However, anything short of "Muh! LSU does what they want! Play the Pro Players!!" is frowned upon

On what legal basis does the SEC have the right to retroactively punish a school, coach or player when the courts have specifically said they can’t?

LSU would probably countersue for retaliatory actions taken by the SEC when they were just following a court order.

Right now the NCAA/SEC rule is suspended regarding the players. It’s going to be in litigation to see if it’s even legal or not. If they happen to overturn it in court during the season then LSU will just cut them from the roster.

It's interesting to me that the SEC is so hellbent against keeping these specific players from competing, but don't seem to care about Pavia or Chambliss, also circumventing their rules.
