Does the Rant still consider him as the LSU next head coach? Houston got blown out by SMU last night. I think it's gonna be either Jimbo Fisher or Coach O now.

All I know from the Herman or bust crowd is you can't judge him off the last three games but you can only judge Ed O by his tenure at Ole Miss.

You let the season play out. Herman won't take a job before season is over, Ed likely won't be offered job before season is over.

What's so great about jimbo? He was relevant for a few years with a heisman qb.

Every great coach loses games.

Nick Saban lost games before at Mich State, while at LSU, and since at Bama including ULM. No matter how down Bama was in 2007 I promise you ULM was not the more talented team.

Bear Bryant was not always Bear, Urban has bad losses, so did Tressel, so does everybody.

Not saying Herman is on their levels but you can not judge a coach based on 1 game. Houston was put on the map because of Herman and the job he has done there.

He's a lucky win against Tulsa away from the F King Alexander curse coming true.

We can'talk afford the loss of the O factor, IMO. Recruiter, motivator, delagater - O tops my list.

I don't he hasn't been in a big boy league and his teams have lost to Navy and SMU. And kissing players is just....weird.

I think the Houston players know Herman is leaving, and they have quit on him. I don't think it has anything to do with his coaching ability. I still think Herman is the best coaching choice for LSU.

Have no desire to talk about future coaching decisions while this staff is doing the job that they are doing now.

LET IT GO!!! Picking coaches is a damn crapshoot anyway. Spurrier is a world-beater at FL and mediocre at SC. Miles builds a great program until the 1/9/12 debacle knocks him into mediocrity. Charlie Strong was a sure thing until he was a bust. Fat Bert was going to step up the pigs game based on all his success in Wisky.

Add to the fact that they knew a 1 loss Houston team wasn't sniffing the playoff....

100% agree

How many "one" games does Herman get before we decide he may not be the guy?

Herman is a standup guy. He told his team that he will be taking the LSU job and you are seeing them in various stages of grief.

Yes, still want.

This is how LSU should be playing all along.

I'm not concerned with how Houston is playing if you watch the games, they really aren't that talented and are turning the ball over.

I really think LSU can succeed with any above average coach with this type of talent. If even an average coach like Miles can come into an established LU team and maintain.. then CEO can take over after he finally went stale.. and have this success. I really am not concerned with hiring a bright mind like Herman paired with a great DC like Aranda.

I love what COE is doing now, but this is a loaded team, and I only wonder about the future. LSU is one dangerous team right now because they have the talent to play with anyone and they are so mysterious and playing relaxed.
