That's undoubtedly part of it.
Most of the defendants still haven't been served with underlying lawsuit yet, so there's no basis to compel their appearance before that court. The LSU Defendants' attorney (who by all accounts is a very good attorney) also just made his initial appearance and enrollment today, so he probably also requested some additional time to get caught up to speed. Curiously, though, there was no official motion to continue filed, which does lend to theory that there are many discussions going on behind the scenes between the parties and the court.

I guarantee the players suit against the SEC and Stankey is full speed ahead though. This will get costly for the SEC for sure. I’m sure they will want to settle privately for the punitive damages to each of those players.
