James W. Moore, Jr., is a business executive, and hotel owner and developer, from Monroe, Louisiana. Mr. Moore previously served as president and owner of Moore Oil Company LLC, a family business with a history that dated its beginnings to the 1940's. Shortly after receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Northeast Louisiana University in 1971, Mr. Moore joined his father in the company’s business office in Monroe. He served as vice president of Kellogg-Moore Oil Company from 1972 to 1976, when he became owner and president. Kellogg-Moore Oil Company, which included a barge service until1977, was the distributor of Shell petroleum products for Northeast Louisiana. In the 1980's and 90's, Mr. Moore expanded the business, now Moore Oil Company Inc., to include convenience stores with locations throughout North and Central Louisiana. In the 1990's, the company also became a distributor of the Exxon and Chevron Brands, as well as Spirit Non-Branded Fuels.
In 1994, Mr. Moore partnered with Dewey F. Weaver Jr., founder and owner of InterMountain Management LLC, a hotel management company also based in Monroe. InterMountain Management owns, develops and operates premium brand hotels including the Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt brands. With more than 25 years’ experience and an existing portfolio of 70+ properties currently under management across the country, and another 30+ under development, InterMountain Management has earned top recognition from the industry’s leading hotel companies. Most recently are The Marriott CFRST Partnership Circle Award and The Hyatt Select Strategic Partner for North America Award.
In 2006, Mr. Moore sold Moore Oil Company LLC in order to focus on hotel development and public service. He is past president of the Ouachita Valley Council of Boy Scouts and past president of the Monroe Jaycees. He has also served as chairman of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Monroe-West Monroe Convention & Visitors Bureau. Mr. Moore has also served on numerous advisory boards including the Northeast Louisiana Economic Development Interim Board and Gov. Bobby Jindal’s Ethics Reform Transition Committee. In 2008, Jindal appointed Mr. Moore to the LSU Board of Supervisors as a representative for the 5thCongressional District.
Mr. Moore and his wife, Lynn, divide their time between their homes in Monroe and Baton Rouge, and are the devoted parents of three. James Moore III joined his father in the hotel/hospitality business. He has worked for InterMountain Management for eight years, six of those years as a general manager, and in 2010 was promoted to regional director of operations.

His daughter played the shooty hoops quite well for St. Frederick's in Monroe. She was not bigger than a minute but could light it up from three point land.
She was 5'2" and played at Tech then Harvard.

I think we can go ahead and put this series of threads on the shelf. It was good and all during basketball season but on behalf of all the users...it has run its course.

Why does someone with
serve on the board of Louisiana State University?!
I was curious and went clicking around the other day. Everyone on the Alabama board graduated from Univ of Alabama and one graduated from UAB. Similar to most schools in the SEC, they fill their boards of supervisors/trustees with alums from THAT UNIVERSITY..
Why in the holy frick are there NON-LSU alums on our board? It should be the first prerequisite.

Exactly.
Let the administration positions be open to both alumni and non-alumni, but the BOS needs to be LSU alumni only.

Do not agree.
Screw your arbitrary, incestuous, "they must talk like us" rules. what we need are highly competent people who love LSU and can help it.

I know his daughter and she's great, so we can give this one the thumbs up and move on.

This is what, the third or fourth of these you post this exact same shite?
Show us on the doll where Smalls touched you.
This is good for us to know, especially folks who will not go searching the sites for the B.o.S. members otherwise.

Crossed paths a few times with she and her brother at various tournaments, we were same age. Both good athletes and seem like a good fam.
