Yeah. It’s gonna be tough. It’s why it doesn’t happen often.

The fall and early spring arm injuries really hurt this team.

If those injuries never happen you go pole to pole #1.

But that’s a lot of ifs and buts

One thing that will help is for Florida to also not make it to the finals. On an even playing field, I think we take Florida. But if they play two less games than us plus have an extra day of rest, that will be tougher than getting thru wake. Nothing will be easy, but if the bats come alive, we have a chance to make it to the finals. This team has the ability to blow thru anyone. It just depends on if the bats show up the next three days.

Or just win last night and you are in the drivers seat. I think anyone would take only giving up 3 runs in a CWS game. The offense didn’t produce.

It's why winning last night was so crucial.
Only way to win it all now is you have to hit your way out which is not impossible, just highly unlikely.
A lot of things will have to break your way.
The goal now is to get Skenes another start in Omaha and then you figure it out after that.
If the 17 team can do what they did against Oregon St than this team can do the same against Wake Forest.
Unfortunately you get to a well rested Florida again and the result will likely be similar.

Unless the offense can average 10 runs a game going for the next three games, it won't happen.

It isn't happening simply due to pitching. We just don't have any reliable depth. Compared to the other teams in the CWS, it's remarkable that we got this far.

That can be doable. Offense needs to show up.

We don’t have the pitching to come out of the loser’s bracket

I’ll say. Teams are only averaging 4 runs a game through 8 games so far this CWS.

Runs are at an extreme premium so there’s going to be a lot of trouble when we get deep into our pen if we arent able to throw strikes. 3 straight walks (albeit awful calls) is all it took to throw the game away last night.

We need to manufacture runs. That 1st and 3rd with no outs to take the lead was another dagger.

‘17 team had the arms to accomplish that. Bc of injuries this team doesn’t.

They may have been better but when Walker went down there wasn’t much for the loser’s bracket games outside of Lange. Poche was on the downtrend at the end of the year and relegated to the bullpen. He started one game. Gilbert pitched the game of his life that no one saw coming. Cooper can be your Poche and Coleman has the talent to do what Gilbert did. You don’t have a Hess sure but you still have Ack and Guidry. Hurd may be available again for an inning or two after today. He will definitely be available if you get to the Thursday game.

This is also a better lineup than that 17 team and the lineup is going to have to be the one to get it done. I’m not saying it’s going to happen and it will take a lot but it’s possible.

Jay Johnson has the experience in doing it in Omaha as well so that’s a plus.

This team will likely not make it to a national championship series because WF has the best pitching staff in the country and the bats didn’t show up last night, it’s really that simple. Last night was the game that determined if we had a chance at a natty or not and we just couldn’t get it done.

Last night game was our chance to National Championship. Beating Tennessee is possible. After that, I am not sure.
