He wasn't handed a team with top 5 talent he wasn't handed a team with top 10 talent. This program has lost 5,4 and 3 games since the uplerclassmen got here. This hasn't been a top 5 team talent wise since 2013 and hasn't been a contender for 6 years.

2014 to a very avg team but we knew that season would be a down year because of the QB situation so we can't give him slack then and in 08 and not do the same for O.

We have 5th year senior at Qb. And neither our oline or dline SHOULD be that bad on paper...at least not compared to miss st. They should both be serviceable.

Grimes is horrendous

The last 4 les miles classes have been 2, 5, 2, 7. So an avg of 4...which is tied for 22nd with Ohio state and FSU. Those are the players O has to work with when les was fired. We lost some after he was hired, but to say we don't have at LEAST top 10 talent is absurd. And it's spread of all classes.

We should not be waiting on our freshman (which was also our worst recent class) to mature.

Stop lying to yourself.

You're right people called for Miles head the entire time he was here so it's hard to take most of the anti-O ppl seriously. And yes of course there's cause for concern although I don't believe things that happened a decade ago at another place played any part in Saturdays game. The biggest concern was the response to all the adversity during the game especially on Canada's part. We hired that guy to keep us in shootings and it looked like he had no answers. Having said that between the refs and the blown opportunities (drops, penalties) it's hard to gage where we are when we play a B- and above game vs good competition.

Oh I agree and a lot if people said O had a flawless offseason but keeping Grimes to me refutes that's assessment. The Oline is as important if not more important that the QB and Grimes is a bigger problem than anyone wants to admit. He's the guy who convinced Miles that we didn't need to recruit specific positions in the Oline we just needed 4 talented run blockers and if we really dug into it he maybe more responsible for Miles decline and firing than anyone. Now as to the assessment of us being a top 5 team I have to strongly disagree. First lets look at those classes you're soley basing that ranking on. We've lost tons of players from those classes not only through the draft but through transfers and dismissals too. Guys like LF7, Adams, Dupre, Harris, Valentine, Johnson,Teuma and Garrett are all gone. Those are guys ranked top 3 at least at their respective positions. Do you know what those classes would be ranked without these players? That's a 10 spot drop off at least. And that's not counting the other major contributors lost off of those classes like Quinn and Smith. Even still I'm leaving a bunch of guys out recalling just from memory. You couple that with the fact that recruiting classes do not perfectly reflect player production and there's noway we are a top 5 program. Look at where we've finished the last few years that's a more accurate barometer of where we stand. Look at our pre season ranking this season, we are nowhere near a top 5 program. Uga, Norte Dame, Texas, Texas A&M and USC have brought in great classes consistently that doesn't mean they're level of program matches their recruiting. Recruiting isn't the sole basis of ranking programs.

Nothing. All of them are has beens at best. Most are madden jockeys that couldn't even put on a jock without instructions. They know nothing about real football but think they should ne able to judge or yapp opinions about it. They hide behind keyboards and wouldn't have the balls to speak their bullshite to anyone's face.
This board means less than zero to anyone connected with LSU football. The clowns that sptead this bullshite should know this.

Why does it bother you so much to be critical of our head coach. Do we not have any reason to be? Why not get behind the team? We are behind the team, being concerned does not mean you are not. Criticism apparently makes you a hater now
How many times does it have to be stated and repeated?

All the Unicorn, Rainbows and Lollipop bunch have very low tolerance for opinions that are different/contrary to their own view of the world through P&G tinted glasses.

If you don't agree with them, they turn into the Thought Control PoPo and quickly resort to juvenile name calling.

How dare anybody say something negative about one of their idols or express a realistic opinion of LSU Athletics.

Texas opened their wallet to a guy who is 1-2 and lost to MARYLAND badly. He's a hot commodity but in no way shape or form is he a top HC in college football right now. Ask Charlie strong about going to Texas being a hot commodity and see how that turns out. You just don't know with these guys.

In defense of O, you have to take Pete Carrol as an example. He failed miserably in his first few chances to be a HC but he changed some things and figured it out and is now thought of as one of the best football coaches out there.

You have no idea what alleva did or didn't do. I'm not saying alleva did a good job, the guy effing sucks and needs to GTFO. But you literally have no clue what happened. What is painfully obvious is that both used LSU as leverage.

Stoops wasn't leaving Oklahoma
Gundy isnt leaving okie lite (alma mater)
Fleck is unproven (although I think he will be a very good coach someday)
Riley was HCIW at Oklahoma and also very unproven

I could keep going if you would like...

Pete Carroll? Seriously. Like most HC, Carroll had Coordinator experience before and after his failed HC gig. There is benefit from being a Coordinator. Most HC and certainly most successful HC have been either successful Coordinators or HC at smaller programs.

O hasn't.

Would you rather an unproven coach or a coach who has proven he is a terrible head coach?

Yet Orgeron kept Jeff Grimes as oline coach, even with his less than stellar coaching and recruiting. Rob Sale was available, as was Kevin Mawae.

Coach O is the coach . Plain and simple. But I will support him up to certain point. It's his job to grow this team. His job!!! I want to see improvement every week. Yeah yeah he's playing a ton of freshmen but they can be seasoned by the end of the year and play smarter and better. My anger is not at Coach O its at or OC Canada!! For 1.1 million , and this is what we get!!!!
