Max may well have been the #2 at that point but they've both been getting reps with the 1s for the last two weeks and O said the guy who performs best was going to start. So it's possible that TJ has looked the best in practice despite Max previously being the backup to Brennan.

Whoever it is I hope people temper their expectations. Both need development and are only playing because we have no other choice. I've just seen a few people say they're glad we have a "freshman stud", and I don't think that's the case with either for now.
