Lots of raw talent but I see no leader ship qualities à la Joe burrow

The problem is that he thinks he’s Joe Burrow, but really he’s on par with Justin McMillan. He’s a conference USA level QB that was given an SEC offer because LSU needed bodies at the position badly and struck out on Bryce Young, DJ Ugaleilei, Haynes King, etc.

If he felt he was not going to be a starter at LSU and that was the reason to enter transfer portal how could he be more confident he starts at Alabama?
You say that as if Bama has a better qb room than us. They do not

That’s why Mullen or Fisher would be great for him. Rohan wasn’t the most mobile QB.

That Quad Brown kid would have been a better take than Finley or Parrish objectively speaking. He had a very good year as a freshman this past season. It all worked out for LSU obviously with Max and Nuss coming in. But you can't tell me with an objective straight face that the Quad kid wouldn't have been a better offer than Finley or Parrish.

Is it me or is anyone else here surprised that he was even offered, but now believes he is top tier?

It's not surprising that Auburn would offer him. He is young, huge and has a cannon for an arm. So he has potential. He looked great against South Carolina, good against Arkansas and awful against Auburn and aTm. He did fair for for a true freshman playing on a team with significant issues and helped us win 2 games. His progressions and accuracy need a lot of work though. He is limited in what he can do right now.

If he said playing against LSU was a major factor, that is just stupid to say though. He had his opportunity. Max just played better in the end.

I would not be surprised if someone in his immediate circle or himself reads this board, because I think he potentially buy into this. He had A LOT of work to do physically… gonna take a lot of hard work.

I don't think Bama is seriously pushing for him tbh. I think he's going to Auburn.

Anyone remember before last season started Finley said all the right things about needing to work hard and didn't mind learning behind someone as he went. boy did a few starts go to his head and all of a sudden he thinks he's god's gift at QB. Way too confident for someone who even at Ponchatoula never showed the slightest bit of leaderships skills needed for a QB. He's a raw talent but even in HS he had the same problems he's having now. Maturity is his issue before he can ever take the next step in development. Whether or not he gets over that remains to be seen.

Why are we convinced it's Auburn?

I realize they have a new staff with their work cut out for them, but were they really bamboozled by Finley's Jordan-Hare tape? 13/24 for 143 and 2 picks? Woof.

Commitment videos are stupid just in general

Publicizing a commitment date and time for a transfer decision is all you need to know about him. He really craves the attention. His parents should put an end to his, but I suspect he learned it from them. He'll never fulfill his potential. He'll always think it's someone else's fault.

It shouldn't bother anyone if he goes to Alabama, because that's the last you'll ever hear of him. He has no chance of ever playing there.

I think he can be an SEC QB with the right coaching. Fisher would make a good college QB out of him and who knows he may even excel later in his career. The kid has physical tools. It sounds like he needs some humble pie.

Why would anyone care what Finley does. He will bring with him the same limitations he had with us. Namely, he relies too much on his arm to get out of trouble, he's too slow on the scramble. He would be better served going to a place like Stanford or the like that plays a more traditional pro style offense.

TJ Finley Decision Monday
Gotta be Auburn if playing against LSU is a “major factor”.

I’d think other division. TN or SC or something.

It would be pretty hilarious if he went to Auburn and ended up starting over Bo Nix who our defense made look like Heisman candidate last year

Don’t leave out TJ Finley’s pathetic effort in that Auburn Game. I think Finley had 3 Turnovers including a fumble for a “scoop and score”. He could not move the team at all. Finley took LSU out of the game all by himself. The D was not great but give Finley his credit.

Sounds as if he has a hard on for LSU / Coach O.

Of all the things O has done, slighting TJ ain’t one of them. He gave him his shot, beyond probably what was prudent for him to do so. Entitled bullshite.
