He alluded to the fact that he was hauling arse from the PO PO.

Historic because he’s the first to do it. It seems like they just designed a custom page to buy his merch from. I’m not sure if Amazon itself is paying him for his NIL. It would be pretty random for a massive company out of Seattle to give a potential 2nd string QB in alabama a massive deal for marketing.

Well he got arrested because he tried to lose them, not because he wasn't wearing a helmet.

But it says he turned himself in, too. So it seems like he did actually elude them?

They definitely had to be bored. I feel like most cops would just chalk that up as an L if they were trying to give a no-helmet ticket and the guy got away

He literally wears a helmet almost every single day. What do you think that thing on a football players head is?

Hard to believe they arrested him for that. Must've been really bored.

I'm sure Auburn cops are paid by REC like everyone else in the state.

Probably can’t get a helmet over that Joker hair he’s rocking. Seriously though, why would the Auburn Po Po want to admit they couldn’t catch a giant dude on a moped?

At least he never threw a no look pass during a game.

Dude ran from campus police because he wasn’t wearing a helmet? Either he’s not that bright or there’s more to that story.

I am not a law person and I have no idea what happened in this situation, I am genuinely curious:

Is it illegal to elude the police if they don't have a legal reason to stop you in the first place?

I think just the opposite. Maybe if he stops they just give him a warning.

But when a guy runs from the cops, they pretty much have to chase. Never know who the runner actually is, and if they run from police, the cops should assume maybe there's a reason.

Not saying that for Finley, but for the population at large.

It's probably both. He probably wasn't running from them simply because he wasn't wearing a helmet. He was probably running because he was either drunk, had drugs on him, had a weapon, or something else he could have got in real trouble for. So he ran to get rid of it.

Now he just has a simple eluding charge, which will turn into either nothing or a simple slap on the wrist, versus something major.

I'm not saying this was 100% the case, but it's a pretty educate guess.

Wdym? He was legit fricking blind. Wouldn’t that technically make every pass he threw, a no “look” pass? ….

This is very inaccurate. If chasing somebody could cause harm to the person, officer, or the public, then a lot of times they are called off. Especially if the reason you are pursuing is because of a person not wearing a helmet.

He probably "got away" because they didn't put up much of a chase at all.

Yeah, if the police are able to identify the driver then there’s no reason to chase and put people in danger. They can just get a warrant unless leaving the person on the road creates more of a danger than attempting to stop him.

yes, I realize that. I meant that running from the cops may provoke a chase, and it certainly raises suspicion among the police as to why the guy is running and forces them to make a decision about chasing. But yes, they don't always chase.
