Is anyone willing to make one of the change.com petitions or something and have it sent to the AD/sound engineer, etc? I feel like it’s worth a shot...

I can echo your sentiments. Last time I attended a home game years ago I was shocked on how much the game day experience was depleted from the stadium due to this new era of piped in music.
I have since been selling my tickets because that's not the atmosphere I grew up in thriving TS Saturdays as each game passed.Whoever decided to make the changes should be neutered or spayed for having that type of influence to take away the history and passion of LSU Football.

I rewatched a few games from 2007 and 2010. It was much better than it is today. The piped in music for the most part actually hurts the crowd noise imo.

@ FeartheFish:

Tigerband trumpet here too ('86-'87). Yeah, the attitude gives you away as a trumpet. Everyone knows how trumpet players greet each other with a "Hi. I'm better than you."

I really do agree with the posts that state we need to dump the piped in music altogether. The band can handle it. The band handled it for decades. The pre-recorded piped in shite needs to be dumped. This is Death Valley! Leave that piped in crap for places like Kentucky, Vanderbilt, or Georgia. We play LIVE music in Tiger Stadium.

I sent an email to Kyle Huber and this was his reply:

Thanks for your feedback, we always want to hear from our fans, good or bad. As far as music in the stadium, the band actually determines whether or not we play music. If they play, we don’t play music. We always yield to them. The volume of the music is something we are always working on improving. Our system in Tiger Stadium is completely dependent on the single audio source from the main video board on the north side. So that one source is what everybody hears across the stadium, meaning the volume is significantly lower in the south side than the north side. So, we have to find a balance and I appreciate your input as that helps us get it where it needs to be.

Thanks again for your feedback.

Kyle

My thought after reading this: He is full of shite.

...I can’t tell you how many times this semester we have been about to play and not been able to because of them playing music, ads, etc... We have songs pulled up to play right after we finish one so...

I would like to know who's able to make these changes. Media director or something?

Very good recommendations

ETA: I like the idea of getting more up to date songs.

Point of Order:

I would like to point out that music has been electronically amplified for over 100 years.

Pipes have not been used regularly to amplify music since the 1800s.

Nobody uses pipes to amplify music, especially in hundred thousand seat stadia.

Carry on.

I think there is a place for some of the piped in music, but there needs to be more recognition of the atmosphere.

Bitch I'm from LA is awesome during big games or when we have all the momentum but you can't play it every time or it loses its effect.

I hate the 3rd down song. I think it's time to change it up, but especially when games are out of hand. When we are beating chatanooga by 40 in the 4th quarter and there are 20k people left in the stadium, stop playing that shite. I'm there to just watch some of the younger players, I'm not going to yell and scream for us to get a stop.

good post. im from louisiana was cool the first few times.

playing it every kickoff is absolutely cringeworthy.
