yeah, that's a good question. If they do take it off, how do they do it? and if so, why?

I was a student worker at the stadium and used to help paint the field. It's water-based paint. It fades out every week. The field is painted every friday before home games.

Field does look good! But I'm actually more pumped to see part of the expansion above the top of the SEZ!

Celebration Bermuda. I think it comes from a farm in Georgia.

Here is a pretty good article that details what goes in with the field before, during and after Bayou Country Superfest:

Nola.com Article

A grinder, much like one used to pull up a paved road, comes in to tear up the sod and all of the old grass gets reused somewhere else on campus, Fasbender said. The irrigation system is inspected, the sand base is graded and the new sod is trucked in from Pine Creek Turf in Georgia.

"(Pine Creek Turf) has a plot where they grow our field in the same profile that we have here," Haliburton said. "It's almost growing in the same environment that is here, so it's not totally shocked when we put it down."

Celebration grass, which can also be found at the LSU Soccer Stadium, Alex Box Stadium and Tiger Park, was first installed at Tiger Stadium just after the 2010 Bayou Country Superfest, according to Fasbender.

"It had three distinct things we look for: how fast it recovers, how quickly it comes out of dormancy, and the shade tolerance," Haliburton said. "And Coach (Miles) likes it."

What's with the cranes? Are they putting a giant McDonalds ad in the SEZ?

I heard they're putting an actual McDonald's on top of the south endzone

Looking at the vistors section in the lower bowl...aren't those getting moved to the nosebleeds with the completion of the SEZ?

I think they have to keep 1500 seats for the visiting team in the lower bowl (SEC games). My guess is that the section where visiting bands sit will remain and be part of that 1500.

yea band staying there makes sense. i know that the away games i've been to our seats have been spread out and shitty...LSU needs to do the same for visitors esp SEC games...

We should hang some massive pictures/banners from the cranes, maybe a picture of Tebow crying or Hester shredding Florida's defense

I'm actually surprised that the money grubbing Alleva didn't sell advertising space on the cranes.
