Does anyone know if the game info and ads are fixed/static? Can they be taken off screen as a replay is shown on the full size of the display, then added back on at the end of the replay?

I'm sure they can, which is one of the main benefits to the new setup.

Don't worry...Ad's will be placed on BOTH...and you will LIKE IT !

Look at the massive support structure AU's requires
They had to build those on both sides. LSU is limited and that’s okay. Better than looking like an erector set stadium in Auburn.

What I don’t get is they can put the ads & titles on the covers for the speakers as static signs
I’m sure those speakers will be covered with a coke and Powerade bottle.
I don’t know why they can’t put static ads underneath the board.
Also, why does the screen need to show championship. They already have flags.

Previously the national & SEC titles were on the speakers. I assume they plan to do the same, since the list of titles on the picture posted in this thread is where the left side ads would go.
As for the question of why they wouldn’t use that space for ads - they probably didn’t in the past because it’s harder to change the speaker covers than to change the ad on the video board.
And honestly, as tacky as the ads on the video board look I think it’s actually even tackier to have them permanently covering the speakers like a billboard.

that video in the middle is so small, hopefully they use the whole board for replays and highlights

No they aren't. The entire screen can be used for replays.

looking at that, I don't think the actual screen showing football plays is any bigger. Like i knew this is what it would end up looking like (covered with ads and bullshite), but it's still hilarious

That 87 minute ot period is going to be amazing.

Why do ads have to take up so much space.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the last one was the same and the only time they used the full screen without any ads was in pregame for a couple videos and lineup intros.

it's not even the ads taking up so much space. It's the stats, score, time, all that stuff that takes up half the board

I hate to be negative but it's a really shitty design. Should have been higher and narrower for use with true replays and such rather than long and skinny to accommodate digital ads/score/playcount. Seems like a waste to go this direction when it could have been twice as big of a viewing area had they gone more vertical

Ideally, when they have replays, highlights, or hype material, they can toggle to show videos in fullscreen and then go back to the regular display board with scores, stats, and ads when not needed.

Originally they told fans that the addition of ribbon boards were to be able to show stats, other games scores, etc. We all know that 99% of the time those boards were just for ads. With the stats now being on the big scoreboard, expect the ribbon boards to be 100% ads.
I just wish the ribbon board ads would be purple and gold. It looks terrible when the stadium gets lit up red because of some company wants red on their ad.

I mean it’s a scoreboard. That’s its primary function.

having a clock and the score is the primary function of the scoreboard. Having 1/4 of the scoreboard real estate to show real time stats is not. I never said to do away with the clock and the score. But you also don't need to be able to read them from outer-space
Regardless, seems unnecessary to spend a lot of money on a new video board if it's almost a replica of what they replaced. The ribbon boards, as others have mentioned, are a perfect place to put things like stats. But they don't. They just roll ads the entire game.
There are plenty of ways to better utilize the space on the video board.
