They are paying it so they will no longer be 8-4 and you are kidding yourself if you think it will fail.

A&M is rich as frick. It's funny how little attention fans pay to this kind of thing.

Most people can name 4-5 obvious big names that hit 100mm, but not many people would think Iowa, Arkansas, and Washington are in the top 20. It's not always the teams with the recent national titles and blue-blood status that have the deepest pockets and autonomy to spend where they see fit.

This was from december 2021 top programs by value.

1. Texas (Tie) – $147
1. Texas A&M (Tie) – $147M
3. Michigan – $139M
4. Alabama – $134M
5. Ohio State – $132M
6. Oklahoma – $129M
7. Georgia – $125M
8. Notre Dame $120M
9. Florida (Tie) – $117M
9. Auburn (Tie) – $117M
11. LSU – $114M
12. Tennessee – $113M
13. Penn State – $104M
14. Oregon (Tie) – $96M
14. Florida State (Tie) – $96M
16. South Carolina (Tie) – $95M
16. Arkansas (Tie) – $95M
18. USC – $93M
19. Washington – $92M
20. Nebraska – $91M
21. Iowa – $89M
22. Michigan State – $87M
23. Wisconsin – $86M
24. Ole Miss – $84M
25. Clemson – $77M

They’ll leave money on the table if they’re getting money elsewhere

How does that compare with the amount of money that has been paid under the table in a normal past year? And will that money still be paid or will everything get funneled through NIL now?

Something will happen to A&M. It may not be in the next year or two but they’re going to have a target on their backs. This is like the 2013 Ole Miss class.

This really doesn’t explain if it’s per year, per player, etc. I assume they’re saying that’s total recruiting budget for this year’s players for their career as long as they’re at a&m? A lot of this won’t be sustainable long term, or it will be sustainable for the big programs (like LSU) but doubt it will create a huge advantage unless Nike gets hugely involved at Oregonor something like that.

But the real money is in the NFL. No player is going to ride the bench for $100,000, if he can start somewhere else.

Especially if the other place will pay him, even if it’s less.

'Member that time Aggy gave a car to Eric Dickerson, and he accepted it and then went to SMU?

They're not going 8-4 if they continue to land the #1 recruiting class each year.

LSU simply can't compete with this.

If the IRS starts to get involved in the NIl situation things could get interesting. I don’t see the NCAA getting involved unless it involves Memphis or Tulsa.

You would think they've had somebody look at whatever rules there are, and make sure they are complying with them. But of course when it comes to things like boosters and football teams, emotion sometimes carries the day, so you may be right.
