This seemed to get lost in the conversation about this game. That was such a bad look. Luckily it didn’t last long and didn’t really cause the game to stop like it did in the Georgia Texas game.

This can’t become a thing. Tennessee started it years ago with Lane then ole miss did it vs LSU in 23 after they thought they were robbed on a call.

Then Texas did it and got a call reversed which is total nonsense. I gave longhorn colleagues that argue it happens all the time and that refs change their calls all the time and it had nothing to do with the trash.

Unfortunately, this is not our first time throwing stuff on the field in protest. In fact, we seem to do it quite often.

I don't recall this. I recall Tennessee throwing stuff at Lane and the Rebs in 2021.

I’m honestly surprised it’s taken this long for LSU fans to start throwing things on the field as a whole. LSU fans have always thrown things into the air, but it was always cups of some drink from the concession stand, and it’d just land on top of us, and was harmless. These younger generations are just stupid and reckless.

The SEC needs to figure out it's officiating, and the fans are starting to show their displeasure on biased officiating by throwing shite on the field. Should they be doing it, obviously no, but goddamn what is the common fan supposed to do when the officiating is so bad lately? I'd say stop watching, but apparently we can do that.

To me it's like fans feel like since the players are getting paid now that it's the feeling that we can do whatever we want.

Not true. The students throw drinks in the air when we score, but they don't usually throw stuff on the field.

Tennessee 2010…students threw shite on the field in disgust when it appeared Les had caused another loss. We were bailed out by Dooley’s own stupidity.

Majority of the trash flying on the field did not come from the student section

But it really wasn't, though. The face mask was a face mask and Lacy's toe was out of bounds.

The officiating has gotten ridiculous. Every review seems to take 10 minutes. Ever flag now requires a 2-3 minute conference before the penalty is announced. Targeting remains absurd.

That said, just as Kirby Smart accurately predicted, the impetus for the throwing shite onto the field now was the Texas v. Georgia game. Yes, the initial call was a bad call against Texas. But that was not a reviewable play. The fact they changed the call, WITHOUT review, only after the Texas fans created a delay by throwing shite onto the field was insane and created a precedent that is seeming being followed (though to a lesser extent) each week.

And the bama touchdown that was reviewed and confirmed even though he was obviously short?

How about the Bama player who was clearly down at the one but BIRMINGHAM ruled it a touchdown?

We got smoked 42-6 at home and you’re worried about fans throwing empty water bottles

We truly have the worst fans in the SEC

Stop victim shaming.

Fix the refs then the problem goes away.

I call BS! The touchdown they called good was at least a foot short. Even the announcers commented; "why is this taking so long, we saw it within 15 seconds". Obviously not a touchdown and not really close. His elbow touched the turf far short and the camera had it covered well. And there were numerous times Bama held, but no call. And whenever LSU had a big play, out came the flags. Not saying it would have made much difference, but the bias was very clear.

one of our cheerleaders was struck by a whiskey bottle a few years back, fortunately it still had whiskey in it, she was able to get a couple of belts out of it for the pain

Yep, terrible look. Even worse considering that WAS a face mask.
