I've sat on the east side for 10+yrs. Yes, 230 games are brutal. No way around it. Sunscreen and hydrate.
I'm high enough up for the over hang when it rains
Good seats. Would I flip to the west if available, yes.

It's not bad on a nice day later in the season but every year there is always a game or two that's brutal.

I have had seats on the east side for a couple of decades.
The early season games, even the ones in the evening can be brutally hot from the sun directly in your face. My seats were on the 50 and pretty high then lower on the 35 closer to the student section. Perhaps seats on the opposite side of the 50 would not be so bad due to the upper deck on the west side screening the sun later in the afternoon. Just some thoughts, but we loved our seats other than the heat/glare

The "Boring Band From Tiger Land" will be playing away from you in all the games except for the one "For all Tiger Fans sitting on the East Side" game a year.

I sat on east side for Florida game in 2013 and I have not sat there since. It was miserably hot. Would not recommend

I would avoid the East at all costs. I sat there for over 15 years and wished I could go sit somewhere else for every game.

When you hear people bitching when we have a daytime kickoff, only half of those are bitching because of having less time to tailgate. The other half are all of the East side season ticket holders. Any daytime game before November is brutal in the East Uppers.

Good advice. It won't be as brutal from here on out as we're not scheduling early season day games any more, but the ill reputation of that side of the stadium is well established. I thought the heat was brutal for Auburn back in 2017 (the famous "comeback" win) but that UCLA game heat in 2024 was unreal.

UCLA won’t happen again since they passed the law for no day games in September.
I can’t find anything on this being a law. I saw a resolution by a La legislator to request the SEC not to schedule them in September, but nothing concrete.

You're right, it's not a binding law, but I believe they are following the request of not scheduling daytime games (< 6pm) in September.

HOT. HOT. HOT. SAT IN EAST FOR 15 years. THE ONLY TIME I left a game before the end was two years ago, ready to faint.
Sun is also blinding. I have never left before the final gun no matter the score before that game.

It's just true folks just used to be a bit more acclimated to heat down here but that has steadily diminished and the absolute addiction to central air has really accelerated the process.
It's just too hot for folks brought up in this day and age to bake in that sun on the east side and day games in September will do most everyone in.
Once the sun sets it's fine or in the fall months it's tolerable as well if it's in the upper low 80's or cooler

I've sat on the East sideline for nearly 40 years. Given the choice, I would prefer the West because, as others have mentioned, the sun is brutal during September and early October games. That seems to be a bit less of an issue with no CBS in the picture.
However, given the choice between the East and either endozne, I'm taking the East every time.

same here. and I've been going to games for a long long time.
I sit on East side. I enjoy my seats, but like many have said, it can be brutally hot during a day game.
Also East side tends to have more "away" fans mixed in. I'm on East side but on around 25 yard line and its close enough to where LSU sticks the "away" band and their fans, that you usually hear their band more than LSU.

Hell yes it is, especially for an afternoon game before mid-October
If you are unprepared it would suck. Just wear sunglasses and a proper hat - problem solved.

The north is deafening. At least you are near the band, but the speakers in that scoreboard are too much for me to sit anywhere near it.
This is an underrated comment. The noise from the sound system is intolerable. It's not a good kind of noise like the band or the crowd. Just an incessant rumbling that rattles your teeth.
