good grief...watch the games before making such an outlandish post. JD5 saved their butts time after time. If one only looks at rushing stats and gives that credit to the OL, then they are missing one of the great displays of 'escapism' in the history of college football. With a normal drop back QB, LSU might have led the nations in giving up sacks, and that is my biggest concern with Nuss next year, not getting sufficient protection.
How many times was LSU stalled inside the 5 yd line this year because our OL couldn't get any push at all. Maulers? That has to be a joke.

I know this is about bashing the OP, but (presuming Delinger doesn't opt early for the draft), is there good likelihood Delinger slides over to LG ahead of Frazier?

With Chester at center and Jones RG and Heard at RT, it is going to be fun to watch next year's OL.

I'd give them a B+. There were some lapses at times but considering Jones got injured and Heard stepped in a B+ is deserving. They should be A+ next year with experience and depth.

They are great and don't get enough credit. LSU lead the nations in yards per rush at 6.3 yards per carry. Take away Daniels stats and the rest of the team is at a 5.3 avg, still good for 10th in the country.

Top 3-5 unit nationally. Best unit on the team.

hahaha wtf were you watching. OL is B- at best but probably C+.
qb is winning the Heisman and we have the best or best wr duo. JD wasn't standing back therev for 4 seconds finding them either. if OL was the best unit, then the running backs would be in the discussion.
OL was the biggest disappointment.

You gonna sit there and try to bullshite that JD can't make a oline look better than it is in college football?

Learn how to watch games or give actual opinion on your rating.

Some of y’all are awful judges of what makes an oline good and what doesn’t

Jayden’s oline is horrible and Joe’s oline was horrible

You dumbasses are watching the QB and not paying attention to oline play
In what world was this offensive line bad? It was probably the best we've had in a decade.

Running quarterbacks also take more sacks. This is common knowledge.

Logan Diggs averaged 5.5 yards per carry with that number being lower than it could have been because he got tons of goal line and short yardage carries. The lowest ypc any of our running backs got for the season was 4.8 and that was Noah Cain who exclusively took short yardage carries.

Our offensive line was the second best unit on the team behind only the most productive wide receiver room in LSU history.

I would rate them a B+.

They were good at pass protection, including being good enough to give Jayden time to go through his progressions and then seeing the running lane if necessary.

On the other hand, they didn't have that meanness that elite lines have. They failed to take over in the rushing game from just the overall aggression. See what Bama did in the SECCG; we didn't have a line that could have done that.

There is plenty of room for improvement, but with more experience it could easily happen.

see post above about where we ranked nationally running the football (1st in ypc)

Bama rushed the ball 41 times for 114 yards, 30 of which came on a Milroe scramble.

Including the scramble, Alabama averaged 2.8 ypc. Without it, Alabama had 40 carries for 84 yards, good for 2.1 ypc.

So a team is not good without it's 3 best players? Tell me more.

The OL was really good. A lot of those scrambles by Daniels wasn’t because the pocket collapsed. He just stepped into a gap and took off. Sure, he got pressure like any other QB, but he picked up big rushing gains because he wanted to, and it was sometimes the less risky decision.

No, it isn't. It's one thing to credit them for success. It's another to shite on the rest of the team. The oline are always a big part of success that never get proper respect.

Our running game was quite good this year with the exception of short yardage/goal line plays. But Oline gets lots of credit for uptick in running game. As for pass pro, thought they did decent job. JD5 had all day on lots of plays.

I rate them a C-/D+ and if JD5 was not so god damn good this team is one of the most sacked in NCAA granted we were ranked 54th with 22 total sacks.

This is fricking stupid. We played 3 of the best D Lines in college football this season and the line absolutely held their own against them. This was especially true once they got rolling through the season and faced Bama and A&M.

The OL gets a B at worst. I would give them a B+ based on the level of competition.

Dude said OL best unit on team. I suppose he was right if you don't count the Quarterbacks or receivers.

I’d put them tied for second, behind 2019, for the last 20 years.

I was going to suggest that you forgot 1996 (Faneca, McClure and Bordelon on the same line), then I remembered that's getting close to 30 years ago.

2003 had Wilkerson Peterman, Whitworth, Niswanger, Dyakowski

2011 was a great unit. Faulk, T-Bob, Lornegan, Blackwell, Hurst, when healthy.

2023 OL was not as good as this group.

2023 was better than this group imo.

Jones was one player I saw with a mean streak late in the year. I think he took the "didn't defend Daniels" comment personally.
