There have been conflicting reports about that meeting. I find it hard to believe that Woodward was that adamant about keeping Davis. Other reports have said that the decision to change coaches had already been made.

Now that Fat Scott is gone we can get rid of garbage Brad Davis thankfully

Davis is here through the end of the season.

Woody was still AD up until yesterday and Brad Davis, who coached arguably the worst position group since he has been here, still had his job. Still has his job. And don’t give me “well Alex Atkins is OC so he can’t coach the OL” because Blake Baker is somehow able to be DC and still coach Linebackers at the same time. Davis is the only coach to somehow make it through O’s tenure and Kelly’s without being held accountable for the obviously bad OLine product being put in the field. That isn’t by accident.

The real question is how much is Woody walking away with?

Honestly, if Woodward was telling Kelly who to fire and retain, I don’t like that.

The AD should give the coach space to run his program as he sees fit, fully understanding the AD will ultimately hold the coach responsible for the results.

I’m not sure what loyalty Woodward has to Davis if I’m reading that correctly, but it should have been Kelly’s decision to make and then he lives and dies by those decisions.

I read this situation completely differently.

Kelly was terrible with assistant coaching hires. If this story is true, he was in no position to negotiate and should have already shown Sloan the door. He apparently decided to pass on the opportunity to save his job and argue with his boss. Sloan was objectively awful and not some whipping boy that didn’t get a fair shake. It was past time to show the fans and supporters a sign of good faith they were willing to make changes.

Woodward lost his job because he did a bad job at managing all of this and ultimately wasted a ton of money in the process. Boiling it down to some allegiance toward Brad Davis is silly, and takes away from the fact that the stakes were very high between Woodward and Kelly, and they both deserved to get fired if they couldn’t get a better product on the field.

Somewhat corrupted? You have Landry to thank for providing “sunlight as the best disinfectant “ and few are giving him the credit it deserves. Appears there are additional motives for Landry’s actions but nonetheless the ole boy hookup would likely continue without the spotlight Landry provided.

Don't forget Blake "Can't stop a DT QB" Baker, he is arse too.
Certainly is a major issue with his defenses.

Or if he wouldn't have been a stubborn jackass, he could have brought Wade back this past off season and been hailed a hero
