Its like ben said. Ur turnin a 4 hour 13 minute game to a 4 hour 11 minute game. Is that a reason to change the state of a game? We arent gonna stop watching.

That doesn’t affect baseball. There’s only commercials between inning and during pitching changes. There’s a set time for each of those events and that time hasn’t changed in forever. The number and length of reviews has actually made games longer though

Somebody had to think up the idea of this stupid arse rule.

And then to make matters worse, he had to express this idea out loud and have a room full of other people look at him and be like, "you know, that is a great idea."

All those people should be kicked in the nuts.

They need to cut down on the reviews. Limit to 1 per team.

It’s nauseating. The amount and length of the reviews have made me want to get rid of reviewing altogether. But I know that won’t happen

Or get half decent umpires where you don’t have to review so many plays.

I feel like half of the reviews are bang-bang plays and the other half are blow calls/ump out of position.

I respectfully disagree. I feel there is an opportunity to cut one 30 second commercial during each inning change.

No reason the teams can’t resume play in 30 seconds less.

16-17 inning changes at 30 seconds each saves a decent amount of time.

They review every bang bang play which happen all the time regardless of how good the umps are. They’re upheld most of the time. Those calls aren’t where umpires screw up the most. Balls and strikes are

Baseball, in general, is a slow sport that drags on for far too long. I don't like the time rules, but I also don't enjoy watching a guy step out and adjust his gloves after every pitch without even swinging the bat.

Get rid of umps and go digital. Baseball has become a long sport.

There’s only 120 seconds between innings and 90 for a pitching change. That’s not very long to get teams on and off the field and the pitcher to throw some warm up tosses. And that hasn’t been affected by commercials. That time has been the case before games were on TV

Wat?

Only way to fix this is

Pro+College: 7 innings
HS: 5 innings

Should have 90 seconds in between innings. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s the damn 3 minute commercials that make the games so long. Don’t need to affect the strategy of the game, when it’s commercials that are ruining the game.

You have had some absolutely idiotic takes regularly. This is easily your worst.

Correct. But the game has changed. More pitching changes and reviews these days compared to 1920. Time to adapt to the modern game.

Why can’t the team take the field in 90 seconds compared to 120? That’s not asking a lot.

Just bc this is how we always did things is not an excuse. Much better than calling a batter out for taking his time during an at bat.

None of that has anything to do with commercials

I’m suggesting a 90 second break instead of 120 second break. What don’t you understand about that? Its not unreasonable.
