My point is timing the batter boxes and the pitchers is not the cure its just a way for refs to interject themselves into the game

Because you were blaming commercials when nothing about the time between innings was affected when games started being on TV. That’s the whole point. Commercials don’t affect the length of games. Like if the cameras stayed in the stadium with no commercials, the length of the game would remain exactly the same. You’d just watch players warming up instead of an Applebee’s commercial. This is a very simple concept

Or get half decent umpires where you don’t have to review so many plays.

I feel like half of the reviews are bang-bang plays and the other half are blow calls/ump out of position.

Each team should get one wrong review. It would prevent the dumb "it's close enough to see" scenarios because coaches wouldn't want to lose their last review. Only plays that look wrong would be reviewed.

Incorrect. The reason why baseball has not entertained shorter inning changes is bc that would have to eliminate a 30 second spot of ad revenue.

They love reviews. More commercials. It’s all about the dollar. Sacrifice the game for more money.

They don’t go to commercials during reviews in baseball either

You post like you don’t watch much baseball and assume it’s like football

Why not give the pitcher an ear bud to hear the call from the dugout as well? That would likely save a fair amount of time, right?

Baseball, in general, is a slow sport that drags on for far too long.

I like how it goes at its own pace in a fast-paced modern world. Leave it alone.

I agree with the timing of the Jobert incident and how it was not a good look. I like the pace of a game, it is what it is and deal with it. I will say the college game is more entertaining to watch than MLB…but that’s another topic. The only thing I would like to see is to change the number of warm up pitches a pitcher has coming into the game from the bullpen. Why give him 8 warm up pitches? A returning pitcher can sit for half an inning and be ready in 5 pitches, why give the relief pitcher 3 additional pitches and spread that over all the pitchers, it will add up.

They don’t even use the review system properly. The Missouri runner was clearly out at first base after reviewing and the call stood. Complete waste of time.

1 review per team. If your review overturns the call, you get another review. If the call stands, you’re done.

The number and length of reviews has actually made games longer though
It's hilarious that they want to cut down the time of games at the same time they employ lengthy reviews.

Then they double down on stupidity by blaming batters stepping out of the box or pitcher's not throwing quickly enough.

It's a joke what they're doing to baseball, both college and pro.
