This team sorely misses Dugas, Beloso, Morgan and Jobert

There’s a lot of talk about losing Crews and Skenes and yea those are two of the best players to ever play college ball.

But imo that’s not what’s missing on this team. We need the “other guys”. The ones who set the table. The ones who set the culture.

We need the grinders and fighters. We need the guy who will check knuckles with anyone in the locker room if they’re not pulling their weight.

We’re missing those Louisiana boys who were hungry and willing to fight to get fed.

The are also missing Cooper and Floyd. Albeit Cooper was a second half guy and Floyd was a head case when they stalled him.

Beloso didn’t come on until late. Jobert couldn’t stay in the line-up. He could carry a team when he got hot and look like pure shite when he wasn’t. Dugas could t throw the ball from second and was not a great second baseman.
I mean, I think Milam will be an upgrade of Dugas.

You’re talking about stats. I’m talking about leadership.

But if you want to talk about stats we can. Dugas played all year with a bum shoulder and hit 17 homeruns.

Beloso “came on late” but still hit over .300 with 16 homeruns.

Jobert may have been “streaky” but he hit .301 with 14 homeruns and 50 rbis. That would be a superstar on this team.

You not only missed my point you missed your point too.

To be fair, NOBODY on this board knows what’s going on behind closed doors, no matter what our record is..

Dugas was very underrated. The others came on later in the season.

In the field Milam is definitely an upgrade, but in his wildest dreams he'll never be the SEC Rbi leader

The guy that had more RBIs than all three is on this team.
The leader of that team was Skenes and Crews without a doubt.

I have to assume you’re intentionally missing the point now

So we’ll need a major league lineup to have a chance? Coach must not be all that

Another one intentionally missing the point. Funny how absent you were all off-season.

No you need a coach that understands this team is not the same ast 2023 and needs to play small ball like Kentucky
We do not have the players to get 9 plus a game hitting.

You coach what you’re good at. You adjust to fit your lineup but Jay isn’t going to be a small ball guy. Especially when you consider that this team isn’t set up to do that.

Tommy White, Hayden Travinski, Jared Jones doesn’t scream small ball team to me.

Even our traditionally speedy position guys aren’t exactly fleet of foot. Braswell isn’t a base stealing threat and neither is Milam. Kling and Brown can run but Pearson and Bingham aren’t anything special on the base paths.

This team is set up to hit the ball a long fricking way and they’re doing that but they’re just not getting it done with runners on.
