This team is great but it will only go as far as the pitching will take it…

This team looks great out of the gates. We all knew this is what the hitting would look like against inferior pitching but lets slow the roll and reserve judgement until we see it against great pitching. I firmly believe this is an Omaha bound team but it will only be a championship caliber team if the pitching comes around and is great. Great pitching will always beat great hitting and this lineup will be no exception. I am not trying to be Debbie downer but history has proven it to be true.

All teams go as far as pitching can take them. But having a lineup like this is just not fair lol. I can’t wait to see them against sec pitching

If Money can solidify that Friday night spot and somebody can take the Saturday job, Hilliard on Sunday and the bullpen arms we have should be plenty enough.

I would normally agree with you but this team can dig in to a teams bullpen fast by being disciplined and working the count. Once they get in to a bullpen, all bets are off. There won’t be many teams that can shut this offense down.

Some of the pitching woes were a result of the game being out of reach late. You had guys throwing that will not be relied upon in SEC play.

That being said, Floyd was the same Floyd as last year. All fastballs and struggling from the stretch. He can’t have that kind of stuff starting vs the SEC. Maybe Edwards will start to stretch out his outings and be out Saturday guy moving Hilliard to Sunday.

This team can definitely rake but I agree the pitching looks suspect so far.

Is Reyzelman being groomed to be that 7/8 inning guy?

We need to be patient and let things develop! Having a guy that hit 99 is always a good thing.

Unless this is the second coming of Gorilla Ball, no team wins in Omaha without some elite pitching. This pitching staff has some work to do before I feel great about an NC going forward.

Edwards or Coleman needs to step up and take the Saturday night spot.

With Ryzleman, Cooper, and Fontenot coming out the pen, we really only need 5 quality innings from our starter.

Sure looks like it. He has the gas, and would be special with a good change-up or breaking ball

I think we might want to wait to see how this team does pitching wise after the Houston trip in two weeks. Might know better then.

Paul would have prob went 2-1 on the weekend and they’d have all been close games. So glad for new energy. Feels Goodman.

From what I saw of Hillard, he will not be in the SEC starting rotation. Hope I am wrong.

Don’t tell me how to feel about this baseball team. We all knew about the offense? Did we think we’d score 51 runs in the opening series? You believe this team will be Omaha but it will only be a championship caliber team if pitching comes around? Guess what champ, any team that makes it to Omaha is a championship caliber team.

I’m as pumped as anyone but…dude….Maine….come on ….Maine…..one weekend….tap the brakes. Just like when people were declaring our hoops team a possible one seed a third of the way in.
