OP is correct. This is a ploy to get LSU to the settlement table. There is a 3B TV rights deal. If LSU is removed the contract is null and void. Does anybody believe the SEC wants to void a 3B payday.

behind OM and Tenn driving this shite also.

Are we sure this is the case? Sankey has been been a poor leader for a while now.

I could see this. Won’t be for the comment, but if they can prove he was recruiting players in the NFL. Wright or Harris mentioned they were being recruited my multiple schools, including OM. That should open the flood gates to what everyone else was doing if so.

There was nothing wrong with the half time statement. And yes, this likely gets settled before the OM game. But Kiffin did nothing wrong other than misjudge the room.

To all of you saying LSU won't agree to something like this, most people also were adamant that LSU would roster the players after the Thursday hearing. They didn't. I think they want this gone and if a fine and small suspension is what it takes, so be it. They have larger goals than getting into an unending body part measuring contest with Sankey.

The school will be fined, probably in the $500,000 to $1 Million range and Lane will be suspended for 1-3 games for the comment at halftime.

The SEC just passed a rule today, Tuesday September 8, 2026, that SEC coaches can’t say things about playing pro players to reporters on TV at halftime. It is retroactive to games played on or before September 5, 2026.

suspended for what? Making an obvious joke while walking away from a halftime interview?

Lane will not be suspended for 1-3 games for a little comment he made at halftime lol. That’s beyond petty and ridiculous. Pay the whatever fine and then tell Sankey to get raped by a goat and continue coaching.

How bout the fatass coach from tennessee with his comments about bring golf balls etc when we go there? Suspended as well, that actually provokes viloence. What a clown show.

That's why they suspend him for the comment. In a way, it gives everyone an out. The SEC gets a little something and they get this Federal case dismissed before it gets tossed out for being ridiculous. LSU gets on with the business of winning football games.

Lol like the conference doesn't want the eyeballs of Kiffin returning to Old Mississippi next week. Right.

You know how these suspensions work. Ways are found for them to be served against Directional Michigan and UL-U Pick'em.

Neither of those things will happen.

We're gonna suspend you. But we need you to be there for the biggest storyline game of the season for this conference. Sec can shove it up their arse.

hmmmmmm sure sounds like a first amendment violation

keep in mind, Lane's employment contract is with Louisiana. not the NCAA or SEC

This BS is more about the NCAA failing to do its job. Eligibility needs to be governed by the NCAA. The rules must be absolute and consistently enforced.

They want to win championships. They want to build a dynasty. They showed Saturday they are on their way to doing that. Make this go away and get on with business.

And they believe Lane is the path to that. Suspending him would be a massive fricking slap in his face. It's not happening. No way, no how.

0.0% chance this happens. Zero rules have been broken.
