U571 - solid movie. As for O apologist, their opinion is no better or worse than yours. I don't get the love for some of the names tossed out there. For all we know, they could be the next Urban Meyer, or the next Charlie Strong. The reality is Coach Orgeron seems to stay out the hair of his coordinators. He is a master recruiter as well. The crux to me isn't hiring coach O, it is keeping Aranda and hiring a top notch OC. The DC seems good to go once the ink dries. The OC is the big question. I don't get the constant bitching about a decision that has already been made. As for Aleva, he is now tied to O. It all seems pretty simple to me. If LSU succeeds with Orgeron, Aleva hit a home run. If not, he struck out and they both should be gone. I hated CLM as a coach, but I didn't post as many negative spots about him in 11 years as some people have about Orgeron in less than two weeks. Let see how it plays out.

Zebras don't change their stripes.

Coaches don't just miraculously get good when they have sucked.

Orgeron is a classic example of the Peter principal,

except we don't know that he, without explanation, hasnt catapulted past his level of competence in historical fashion. He may have failed as a DC, we will never know. What we do know, and what we see in your post is it is highly unlikely and improbable that O will do any better here than he did Ole Miss, in relation to SEC success.

If you give me a race car mid race and all the shite is bolted on tight and running good, I may make a pretty good race car manager. But let one thing screw up and I don't have a clue how to fix it for the next race...that is O in his roles as an interim versus a permanent coach. We are in for a world of hurt IMO.

Emmert didn't want Skip btw, at least not before they had conducted a national search, this was beginning of the return of the good ole baws and our decline..

This is what I've been saying. Peopke equating an interim performance to permanent HC are clueless. Alleva's incompetence is hard to stomach as an LSU fan.

I was surprised by the Skip hire as AD, but at least he has a spine and truly is willing to dig in and fight for what is best for LSU. Would you trust him or Alleva more with the next football hire?

Sure they do-- Saban, Dietzel, Johhnny Majors, Mack Brown all had losing records or close to .500 their first 3 years. They all won National Championships after they sucked.

So Mr. Orgeron (I won't say coach since your race car driver analogy implies you are an automotive dipshit that would confuse oil and gas), could get all wound up and 1) spike the ball on 4th down, 2) try long field goals giving opponents short fields on what will obviously be a short attempt 3)yada tada. I would assume your pit crew would assist you in your racing endeavors- but frick that. Based on your analogy, all of Orgeron's assistants are going to hang out at Fred's as he fricks up. This shite you people push is hysterical.

Ok, your plan is for our head coach to be baby sat.

You are replying in a thread that clearly states that what we expect of O has only been delivered once in decades.

it isn't shite being pushed, it is just fact. The reality is hysterical too.

Has there ever been a coach that won a D1 natty and switched schools directly? Post 1970.

had Tulane in a bowl in his third year.

and all four of the coaches you mentioned had never been FIRED, the whole point of the thread.

They all had their teams showing signs of improvement, or at least the records show improvements in the third year. O had gone winless in the SEC in his third year. A team that was Co West Champs two years before he took over.

Most of the coaches you mentioned had taken over programs that were in a huge funk.

Yeah, and the LSU AD acted as if the same scenario was in play by extending an offer to an interim coach when NO ONE IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY wanting him. Bottom line, LSU has done a shite job of hiring coaches nearly every time it has been conducted.

agree

please stop

we are trying to get the #1 QB in the country today

get with the program !!!!!

LSU has the #1 QB haul in the country and will do their best to screw that up by offering an Alabama hard commit and early enrollee that they haven't even spoken to and whom has shown ZERO INTEREST.

Get with the program?

How bout we roll with our elite and extremely loyal commit, Myles Brennan? Instead of crapping on him in the final hour.
