This whole post is inaccurate. He didn't make them a consistent bowl team he avged 7 wins a year and left the program under investigation from rules he broke. Hardly laying groundwork for future success. He was Kevin Sumlin he rode gundys offense to the LSU job and has turned us from a national power into a middle of the pack sec team.

Oh good Lord. Look, I was no huge Les fan, and a part of me is glad he is gone, but this is just ridiculous.

But that just supports the point that LSU has colored outside the lines here. They didn't go out and hire a proven winner, the way that schools in the upper echelon of college football typically do.

What have many of us been trying to say?

Disaster. Simple as that.

Nick Saban and Urban Meyer have done pretty well at their second stops.

It's this type of brainpower that got CEO hired in the first place.

Can you read dumb arse?

If Ed can win the west once while Saban is at Bama and average 9 wins for the four years, this will be a success. No matter what or who we hired, we aren't going to be dominant in the Bama rivalry until Saban hangs up his whistle.

lol. We fired a guy who we know for sure can do this because we wanted more. Now you're saying that's all we expect of his replacement?

Why even fire Miles than if the your hopes for his replacement are that he can match the record that Miles got fired for at his very best

No coach has won a best of 5 against Saban since he's gotten things rolling at Bama. Not a one. Freeze got two of three with elite QB play and likely recruiting violations. He's not going to beat Saban multiple more times before he leaves Ole Miss.

Miles lost 5 straight against Saban and was regressing against the rest of the west. That's why he was fired.

I'll say it again... Assuming Saban stays at Bama for 5 more years, given that three of those games will be in Tusky, the absolute best ANY coach we could have hired from a reasonable standpoint could expect to win is 2 of those 5 games. Orgeron has proven that he can be dominant against the rest of the West. And he will likely keep us stocked with Talent until Saban retires so we'll be in good position to have a run when Saban goes, whether or not CEO is the long term solution as coach.

Saban is simply the best college football coach of all time. 2/5 would be a resounding success. Period.

He went 4-7 his first year didn't make a bowl so if you do it for 3 years that's consistant? Ok

Ole Miss beat Alabama a couple of times because they had a very good passing game. LSU's strength over the last few years has been a power run game, which Alabama crushes. Until LSU develops a good passing game, with a very good quarterback, a line that can pass block well and very good receivers, it will be very hard to beat Alabama. A new coach, with a new plan could make that work, but if he stays with the old power game, expect the same results as in the past.

Everything about this hire should make LSU fans uneasy. We don't really need a writer to point out to what extent this hire came from a clusterfrick process by our lame AD.

Alleva should have been fired on the spot as soon as he come out with the BS idea that O was our best choice from all the available coaches out there.

I really doesn't matter how this works out. The process of the hire was beyond stupid!

Actually it's really not. Okie St was a crap team and Miles made them competitive right away. He rebuilt their foundation. Also upset OU and Stoops twice, while they were ranked top 4 each time. Won Big12 coach of the year.

You're talking the SI scandal. Well that turned out to be mostly false, including the Miles accusations.

Not saying Miles was the best thing to ever happen to OSU, but to imply that he sucked is really wrong.

We were a national power for many years with Miles. Just because he got stale doesn't mean his tenure here was shite.

it's amazing how long this bashing continues.

newsflash: it's a done deal, he's our coach. continually bashing him is old. why don't you just go to the nearest corner, assume the fetal position, insert your thumb in your mouth and cry.

lol. Being able to do something three years in a row or even 3 of 4 years is kind of the definition of consistency. No one would argue Bama isn't consistently winning championships.

Oh by the way, OSU had had one winning season and one bowl appearance in the 12 years before Miles got there. You don't think him going 3 of 4 on both counts is significant? If you don't, it's hard to take you seriously.

I despise Alleva...... he is absolutely the worst AD in the SEC. Maybe one of worst in the country. How we ended up with that Lacrosse idiot, I will never know.
