Absolutely, his PLAY could change my mind! However, let's examine facts. In 2 years, he has not distinguished himself as an impact player by any stretch. And if the LSU commonly accepted depth chart is correct, he won't even be a starter...may not even be an early sub. When you are a TR JR and you are behind TR FR on the depth chart, that is not a good sign.

Who’s starting in front of him now? Last I saw on Lads he was still projected to start.

You can definitely find varying depth charts but I personally trust Scott of DandyDon website the most. He actually attends most of the practices and thus he can tell who is "running with the 1s" assuming no one is injured. At DT, he has Geralds and Anderson as the starters and actually has Blocton and Green ahead of McKinley IF he is listing all the substitute DTs in order.
He also has Dillon Jones from Wisconsin as the #1 RB with Berry on the 2nd team.

Ok I just saw Dandy Don as well. Couple things, one he doesn’t have their specific positions listed which is important because they’re so distinct in how we use the DTs now. He does have Geralds and Anderson which would pair together in how we use them so maybe he’s taken it into account. The second skepticism I’d have is starting 2 freshman, it’s just not something you see at that position unless you’re very desperate and I don’t think we are. Not saying you’re wrong for trusting DD or he’s wrong, but with the lack of specifics and the freshman he might be ranking them as players more than he’s saying these guys are starting here.

Geralds has been getting "freshman phenom" reviews from multiple sources so I think he is pretty much a lock as a starter. Anderson, Blocton, Green, and McKinley you could probably throw into a hat and pick one. My impression of how Scott makes his depth chart is him watching practices and see who is "running with the 1s". He does that a lot with the OL also. I don't remember Scott assessing who is better than another...he simply goes to practices and observes who appears to be a 1st teamer. ASSUMING no injuries and ASSUMING no experimentation, that should reflect IMO Blake's judging of 1st team, 2nd team, etc.

I agree, I think if one starts it’ll be Geralds because he really fits the upfield, tweener we’re using there. He’d be the super deluxe version of Gooden, Suggs, Shand. The other spot, the shade guy is where I think we’re going to go with the experienced player because that’s how it’s trended, Paez and Guillory, it calls for a more experienced player. I think it’ll be McKinley there at least at first and then if he doesn’t produce we’ll go from there. Again just speculation but that’s my guess.

According to shea dixon the transfer guys and dom have been solid in spring and summer but the freshman have simply been that good and better than everyone else . It’s less were desperate and more so Duce/richard are the best guys in the room right now

You know practice isn’t the game and it’s not to question their talent but that position very rarely has 2 freshman starting. It’s not common to have 1 starting for a good team. For example the two All-SEC freshman DTs last season started a total of 2 games between them.

DT is a heavy rotation position anyways tho. Even if Duce and Anderson are the “starters “ on paper blockton, green, dom will all get plenty of snaps

I think having better dudes around him will help, particularly on the edges. He tends to play high at times, which is what you see a lot of with taller DT’s.

Looks like he’s dropped 10-15lbs. They might move him around, on and off the nose.

I have an extremely high opinion of Mike Brockers. I think he is among the very best DTs LSU has ever had. But he was NOT “the entire reason” that 2011 line was great. We had a fantastic DT in Logan and two strong DEs.
