I agree the CWS is very "fair". However, the unique thing about baseball is the most important position on the field (pitcher) needs a certain amount of rest. Of course, this affects all teams equally, more or less. So I absolutely agree with you.
My beef with the series is the same as always. You play an entire season of three-game series, with a mid week game. Then suddenly to prove you're the "best" you have to win an 8-team double elimination tournament played over the course of barely more than a week.
I think the CWS needs to be extended over a longer period of time. The current format does not allow schools to utilize their most important position players to their full value, IMO. Of course, LSU is one of those "bigger" schools who will typically have all the pitching required to win this style of tourney. But it still "fair" to the smaller school who may only have two decent pitchers? It's a fair debate, at the minimum.

I am old school (translation: old) and I miss the winner-take-all single championship game. It had so much drama. I know that it sometimes resulted in teams having no choice but to start their #5 guy or Johnny Wholestaff in the game with occasional 21-14 football scores but that is part of playing in and winning a tournament- gotta save 1-2 arms just in case.
As for this year, look for Riley Cooper to pitch in every game and win CWS MVP like Trey Hodges - book it!

You're not wrong but Florida has been their 8x under O’Sullivan. You get there that many times and eventually you get blessed with an easy path.
Jay just needs to get LSU to Omaha at a similar pace. 8x in 15 seasons.
