It's not last year. Unfortunately for both teams they will not be able to line up against the previous year's edition of their opponent.

If you do the same 2024 exercise for LSU it’s not possible to come up with a 24-point road victory as a prediction

Especially when you consider LSU's road record under BK so far.

Good wins:
@USC 2024
@Mizzou 2023

Others:
@Arkansas 2024
@MSU 2023
@AU 2022
@UF 2022
@Arkansas 2022

Losses:
@aTm 2024
@Florida 2024
@OM 2023
@Bama 2023
@aTm 2022

7-5 with only two wins vs good teams.

Zero self awareness when you started this thread. Also, its not "This Clemson (or LSU ) team"

I would think this years clemson team might be similar to last year's Ole Miss team. Maybe the mobility of Klubnik similar to Dart. Or some of the playmakers on the d line, after ole miss went all in last year on the transfer portal.

It will all depend on if our transfer class gels and gives the expected productivity. Clemson was either a wash or net loser in the portal, we were a huge winner. If last years teams face each other with rosters from last year, this year...we lose by 10 points. But the addition of impact portal guys and the good trench recruiting we have had for a couple years pay off, we win a close game. 27-23.

We will need productivity from a combination of Sharp, Haulcy, Brown, Gooden, Cooley, Pyburn, Anderson, and have our two added OL be the players we expect.

That is an entirely new complexion for LSU. Clemson, again, didint really add much. And have very few freshman that may step out and impact the game after a pretty pedestrian, low numbers, low top 100 player recruiting class. Dabos philosophy has shown to not work to have success in todays CFB world.

Which means absolutely nothing to this game.

Klubnik was a different QB by the end of the year than he was at the beginning.

That's the most obvious difference between last year and this year.

I really don't think your analysis is meaningful.

There is nothing to be gained by looking at prior year. We will see what we have in 19 days. I do believe Clemson is a really good football team, probably going to coast into the playoff. We could lose to them and win out, we could beat them and go 9-3 and miss the playoff. It all depends on how fast this team gels with all of the new talent, especially on the OL.

I'm not saying that.

I can look at LSU's team last year...see its' weaknesses...see what it has done to compensate and make an educated guess as to where its weaknesses will be this year.

But, that's not what the OP did. He's wishcasting.

After 2010 did anyone on here envision LSU having that great 2011 team.Teams and key players mature and get much better one year to the next.Clemson has a lot of players returning ,a year older ,stronger and more mature.The same with LSU.Both teams have good to great players so it comes down to which team executes the best.It will be a close game with 2 very good programs.

Right, that's why I said last year was last year. Both teams will not be the team they were last year.

Like lots of others, I like entering the season with optimism.

That said, objectively speaking, I hope for a win but expect to lose.

We're not Georgia. Outside of 2019, we haven't been at that level since the early teens.

We have Nussmeier and some WRs, and we may be able to score a lot. We really haven't been able to stop much of anyone for going on a decade. We gave up 9 plays of 50 yds or more last year, some against shitty teams (Nicholls State had one of those plays). Until proven otherwise, I remain terrified with our secondary against anyone.

Wesco and Moore barely played that game(true freshman, 1st game), by the end for the year the offense was reliant upon them. With those 2+Bryant, that passing offense carved up Texas secondary, which was the best in CFB last year, in the playoffs
