In all fairness, TM7 screwed himself. Everyone gives him credit for being the most explosive DB in college football and he obviously belongs on that list. However, it's not going to happen after a suspension. Sucks, but it's 100% on him and he knows it.

He went from Heisman nominee to not being on the Thorpe Award list. Decisions off the field can and will cost you.

Frick individual awards.

Don't need'em to know who we are

I see what you're saying and agree, but if we get PP7, Mo, and Tyrann to all win the award, then that will do wonders for our recruiting

I think b/c he wasn't on the original watchlist to start the season, he's not eligible to be on it.

I may be wrong, but that's what my impression is of how it works.

Matheiu is not that great of a cover corner, if not for Mo Claiborne, Tyrann would not be the player he is

Tm7 is a great NB. I get nervous when he covers one on one.

This dude is really not that good.

He benefits heavily from what I call the Ciron Black effect, where someone becomes a starter early on at a school where its difficult to find much playing time as an underclassman and does a solid job. People assume that after a few years he'll be just amazing, but sometimes a guy who is a slightly above average player as an underclassman just stays a slightly above average player throughout his career.

There's downside to celebrity: UNWANTED attention and the public microscope.
Cam Newton won the Heisman DESPITE the scandal.
Whether TM is named an All American or not assured and the trash talk/ syn weed issues could hurt him with some voters.
That's why public relations departments get involved in these things

Is the award for Best Cover Corner, or Best Defensive Back?

First of all Kudos to Mo Claiborne. Great year and will get better. TM7 is a play maker and should have been on that list. This is good for us my little minions in Tiger Land. Motivation is a huge motivator...

Who cares?

Claiborne, Mathieu, and Simon are better than about 75% of that list.

that's actually a pretty good way to look at it...He was very good for a freshman when he was a freshman, he just hasn't gotten a whole lot better.

I've always contended that Claiborne is a better defensive player than TM7. Now, my opinion has been validated.

2 players from Oklahoma St. over Mathieu. OSU has the 111th ranked D in the nation.

While I think its ridiculous that Mathieu isnt on the list, I think OSU leads the nation or is high up there in interceptions or turnovers. Some shite like that.
