Lets assume LSU is ranked at #7 tonight which many in the media are predicting. Michigan, Georgia and Oklahoma would be the 3 teams in front of LSU for the # 4 spot.

It's not a far stretch to think that each of those 3 can have 2 losses before the final CFP rankings are in. Would LSU be the best 2 loss team to make it into the #4 CFP spot and play Bama again? 2007 all over again???

Boy, playing Saban again this season would be so much fun. Can’t wait.

No, it wouldn't be fun. Just noticed that a playoff spot isn't as far away as I initially thought.

Washington State would win the Pac-12 and jump us.

Hell, I'm pretty sure they'd put a two loss Georgia in over us, just due to the fact that they made the SEC championship game.

Ohio state would be in just by beating Michigan and only having one loss.

A meteor would have to hit almost all of these teams stadiums during a game, for us to get into the CFP.

If Michigan gets beat it will be by OSU. They will jump us.

I'm wondering how many more of these threads we're going to get. I applaud the enthusiasm, but getting to the playoff was the last thing I've been thinking about since Saturday.

Just stop.

We will not and absolutely should not get into the playoff.

Sooner or later UCF will have to be acknowledged.

LSU proved Saturday night that they don’t remotely belong in the conversation in the top 4 CFP. The mere discussion of this is laughable. Just taking their body of work over the season from an offensive standpoint, LSU is a marginal 20th - 25th ranked team.

Exactly. Barring a mega miracle, LSU has no chance of making the playoffs. Hopefully (but doubtfully) both Georgia and Alabama make the playoffs and give the Tigers a better shot at the Sugar.

If you think LSU deserves a spot in the playoffs then you should want them to go back to the BCS system.

This team is not a playoff caliber team. Just stop

Well it was just food for thought. I would much rather miss the playoffs and beat a quality team in a NY6 bowl. Finish off 11-2 on a high note. Making the playoffs would hurt us more than help us.

Possibly.

Who does Michigan lose to, Ohio State? If Ohio State still only has one loss and wins out, they're likely #4.

Who does Oklahoma lose to, West Virginia? If West Virginia still only has one loss and wins out, they have a shot (I don't think they're better than LSU, just saying).

Georgia definitely loses 2, and we beat them, so we should be in over them.

Pac-12 sucks, but Washington State probably will win it with one loss to USC.

You'd rather miss the playoff than have to play Bama again? Kinda chickenshit IMO.

Everyone keeps forgetting West Virginia. They would easily jump us with a win over Oklahoma.

For the love of all that is holy. Anyone starting a thread about LSU getting a route back into the top four needs to be banned.

So we make it to #4. Who do we play first round? Bama. Yeah, we got blanked and embarrassed on our own field when Saban had two weeks to prepare. Logically we'll do better at a neutral/slightly pro-Bama field with Saban having a month to prepare.

This is NOT a CFP caliber offense. Which is a shame, because the defense certainly is. But I definitely don't want to give Bama another opportunity to embarrass us in front of a national audience again this year.
