Lmao. Have you been since the renovations? It’s fantastic.

I have. I was there last night. You are right, it is nice. And that was my point: the Saints and the state have spent hundreds of millions improving it -- $560 million in just the last renovation alone, but there is no way to fix its architectural limitations. The Plaza has bad sight lines and always will, and all seats are generally too far from the field. No amount of new club spaces and cosmetic upgrades are going to fix that.

I grew up going to the Superdome every fall. I have tremendous nostalgic attachment to it. But I am also not blind to reality; it is obsolete and is an albatross when it comes to New Orleans and the state staying competitive in football, no matter what level.

I’m hoping that they renovate the loge end zone areas to look like the rest of the plaza & loge sidelines & plaza end zones.

frick that. They can play at Yulman. TS can barely maintain the grass come late season as it is.

Though I agree 100% that its inevitable replacement should be in the same footprint and not move across the lake.

Not Biloxi.
Austin Saints?
San Antonio Saints?
Portland Saints?
San Diego Saints?
St. Louis?
Highly likely in the next decade.

Doubtful. New Orleans could and should lose the Pelicans, but the Saints aren’t going anywhere.

Lipstick on a pig. The Superdome is arse. Needs to be torn down and replaced with a modern structure.

Every single stadium being built now is cookie cutter. You can say what you want, but it’s withstood times when stadiums built after it are already being demo’d for new stadiums.

Neither Texas or Notre Dame played there last night.

Exactly zero of these are even possible in the next decade, much less "likely" and even less "highly likely."

1. The saints lease goes through the 2035 season;
2. They just did a $650 million renovation;
3. Benson paid for $200 million of that; and
4. The NFL would never allow the saints to move out of New Orleans.

The Saints aren't going anywhere for the foreseeable future. The superdome won't be replaced for another 30+ years.

Except this is just factually inaccurate. Just because it doesn't have a giant window behind one of the endzones does not mean it's obsolete, and in no way is it an "albatross" on the future of New Orleans football lmao.

The only thing that matters in terms of "staying competitive" is getting super bowls. New Orleans, and the Superdome, will always get Super bowls. The city and the dome got more praise last year than any city/stadium I can ever remember. I don't even know the point you're trying to make.

I disagree. New Orleans is one major hurricane from extinction. The tax base is dying. Business is leaving. The population is poor. Crime is high. Insurance rates are outrageous. The NFL covets any of the cities I mentioned over a state where the Brain Drain is real and not slowing. And news flash: The Pelicans will be out of Louisiana first. Count on it.

you mention this
But you mention also

lol plus San Diego has already lost 1 team, and the jones family will never allow a 3rd nfl team in Texas. Saints aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.

I've been in many domed stadiums. Jerry World is better but other than that I'll take the Dome any day. Las Vegas not even close. Atlanta Mercedes Dome no.

The Pelicans can leave tomorrow. Few care. The Saints aren't going anywhere. The only time it came close was after Katrina. Paul Tagliabou and the NFL made sure that didn't happen. The Saints aren't going anywhere and neither is the dome

Superdome aince renovations is in top third of all NFL stadiums. The location is perfect and they are getting ready to do a renovation of the SKC and Champions Square so the Pelicans aren’t going anywhere either

The Superdome is fine for a 4 hour event. What makes it more special than almost any other stadium is is that it walking distance to an adult playground.

Bro no they were not lol. Nothing tops Death Valley bathrooms. I was there for the 2019 Clemson game and they were far more accessible.
