LSU alum from 43 years ago; fan since I could listen to the radio. For years, I’ve sat through rain, heat, cold, and Curley. I always felt it was a privilege to walk into Tiger Stadium regardless of the record or opponent.

Last Saturday vs SC was the first game I’ve been able to attend thus season, and the first time I have ever left at halftime. The pervasive music/noise, annoying lights, and circus atmosphere was beyond obnoxious and enough to overshadow the game, and drive this Tiger fan out of his beloved stadium.

I don’t know if I’ll be back, but I also realize I’m no longer the target demographic. Very sad.

The guy who facilitated the survey was connected or one and the same who sold the new PA system. I literally can’t recall anyone who said they like this shite….but Im sure there are some.

LOL! I remember people bitching because they couldn't hear the sound system. Now its too loud.

Evidence #129994349840 that way too many LSU fans make it a point to do nothing but bitch. Never will they be satisfied because they can't be.

At home is a better experience.
We are South Stadium Club members.
I just personally don't enjoy the atmosphere and experience anymore.

Drowns out the gunfire outside the stadium, as well.

I had tickets in the north end zone for the SC game. Never again. I got there early for warmups, and was praying for the game to start so I could get maybe 30 consecutive seconds without being assaulted by music that was not only loud, but offensive… not to me… but to music itself.

I stayed through the whole excruciating game. We must have had 200-300 songs or portions of songs blasted at us over that time. Ridiculous. Who the hell likes this?

The band doesn’t play Vehicle, Jungle Boogie, Tiger Rag (during the game), Hey Baby, or Hey Fighting Tigers (a sin!) so we can have more time to suffer like fans in a shitty NFL stadium. Awesome.

Having an obnoxiously loud sound system constantly playing that drowns out band and crowd noise is a great way to discourage fans from bringing their kids

Which risks that generational handoff of shared enjoyment. A kid has a bad experience at a game that lasts for years and discourages repeat visits until much older. You can lose some in person attendance for years at a time that way - especially for the lower profile games that need and depend on the family component.

Curious about the average age of the posters in this thread...While I will agree that it is overdone at times, I also noticed the crowd only gets amped up for a 3rd or 4th down if they crank the music up to remind everyone to get loud....half the stadium also left at halftime. It didn't "drown out" the crowd, it got everyone loud, and then when it shut off it was all crowd...Just turn off y'all's hearing aids...you'll be fine.

My kid loved it...he did not love the gunshots outside the stadium though

Ya'll forget that it's not all about the fans...what do you think will pump up the players before a big third down? The band playing "Hey Baby" or the sound system booming and lights flickering...it is what it is. Myself and my young son enjoyed it, that players on the field seemed to enjoy it...no one sitting around us seemed to complain.

Leaving at half because you don't like the music and lights in a close game?! I mean I hear you...my dad would be the same way... But he also complains when someone talks too loudly to him or if a teenager has their music too loud in their car sooooo where does the problem really lie?

It is complete garbage how the sound system is deployed.

Every time I go to a game the last two years I get annoyed and ask myself why I keep going. The constant music at breaks and lights are annoying.

At the Florida game I realized most of the people aren't really there to watch a football game, but rather to be at the LSU game.

Not only is the music annoying, but the constant on the field activities during the timeouts or small breaks in the game.

LSU turned the ball over at one point in the South Carolina game and it was a frustrating time in the game, next thing you know the crowd is cheering for the Tanks or Shanks kick.

I want to see who actually is in charge of the music selection. Just another reason we have a ton of undesirables on campus as we seem to cater to them. IDGAF about Rap, HipHop or any of that Garbage. Give me Rock and Techo for all I care because it’s a feeling not a concert. Plus for the money some of us spend I or we should have a say so.

You got downvoted to hell with this, but for the love of God, play ANYTHING that'll get the crowd into it. How are we supposed to sing along to "TURN DOWN FOR WHAT" 500 times a game. Embarrassing.

We simply need to play every game Katy Perry's ROAR. You know cause we are the Tigers.
