Well, I’m an attorney trained at the great LSU Law School and I can count too. You are missing the big picture because you are afraid. Your fear is clouding your judgment. Read the data. Death rate continues to go down. 99.8% recover. High risk group is over 70. Almost 100% of people under 45 recover. All colleges should reopen and football should be played.

GEAUX TIGERS!!!

I sure hope that you read your contracts and briefs more carefully than you did my posts MysticTiger. I have not yet expressed any opinion, judgement or fear. I've only cited data to correct inaccurate information posted on this board in my 2 preceeding posts.

For the record, I am desperately pulling for football in Tiger Stadium this fall, including a loud raucous crowd in the stands cheering our Tigers on to victory. BTW, I'm also a proud LSU alumnus in my 60s.

I will not be there myself. Not at all because I'm afraid, rather it's because I'm REALLY good at math and statistics and I don't like my odds. I'm in my sixties with 4 additional co-morbidities listed in my med chart.

All universities are motivated to have students on campus and in classrooms this Fall... Would you pay Stanford or Princeton tuition for classes online? Months ago financial advisors sent customers letters advising them to spend education dollars wisely.

The Trump administration is rebranding their coronavirus response to 'learn to live with it.'

I suspect the season is in jeopardy of not being played.

There are politics in play, and I'm not even talking about partisan politics.

Infection rates and hospitalizations are rising, and states are beginning to backpedal on opening up.
How do you justify squeezing restaurants, bars, churches etc, and then on the other hand go ahead with football- which is probably the single biggest gathering of people in each city that has a team?
Simple, you can't.

We're going on basically a wait-and-see mandate right now, and sports, football in particular, needs some structure and preparation to be ready.

As for the no-fans option, it sounds like a solution. But go back and look at the riots, and people going to the beaches, etc- you've told your population to shelter in home isolated for a couple months, then suddenly they get a chance to get out for whatever reason. People are going out because they're going nuts cooped up.
You're telling me you think they can have a game at Tiger Stadium, and you're going to be able to keep people away from... somewhere around LSU? What are you going to do, put the National Guard on Highland and Nicholson, and try to disperse people?

I think we're getting close to pulling the plug on the season now, probably within a month at the most. We (the people, including the government) either need to have this under control, or we will have to put off "entertainment and gatherings" for the time being.
And with sports, that's got a pretty inflexible timeline, you're talking about just dropping a season.

In Texas they banned groups of 10 or more. And for good reason. So selling a gathering of 100k plus is not sellable. Ain’t going to happen. Not 10k or 5k. Not a single health professional going to sign off on that.

The death rate you quote is comically misleading

Check the death rate amongst age groups. It’s much higher amongs those over 60- an age group with the money to buy the tickets.

It’s not all about 20 somethings. This virus badly impacts older people

Not a single health professional? The same ones that were cheering on 60k protestors as they jammed the streets like sardines?

I still feel like we will play SEC games only, 8 games in 9 weeks, starting in mid October with the championship game pushed back a couple of weeks

There is no way we will have a football season unless all universities stop testing by August 1st.

Perception is reality....even with stats. There is almost no chance they pull this off. Especially when cases rise when they start full practice.

But people are so squeamish at this point that no risk of any kind can be taken when it comes to this "deadly" virus that kills less than .25% of people it infects.

Worldwide totals as of today/right now...

11,679,808 reported cases

539,764 deaths from virus.....

So....yeh your numbers are not only wrong they are laughably ignorant. Stop being stupid.

Highland, open your motherblanking eyes. As I've posted before, 90% of people that get sick don't go to the doctor. They stay at home and recover. Don't you think a decent % of these people contracted covid, and RECOVERED at home???? This would cause the ACTUAL mortality rate to PLUMMET. The official mortality rate is already low. You can't even SEE the actual mortality rate. Do you not find it strange how the media is HARPING on cases, while barely glossing over death rates? The agenda is to keep this hysteria going through the election in what will still be a futile attempt to defeat Trump. It is one of the continual hail Mary's thrown by the left in their desperation.
