That is not what the committee is there for, it is not their job to decide who can beat who easier or what matchup will be better for ratings or storyline

No, it's because the committee is hoping for the first non-SEC championship game since 2014. They know if LSU is #1, they will advance. They are hoping this way they can get an OSU-Clemson NCG. Won't happen, but that's want they want IMO.

Agreed. We shouldn’t have a committee sitting there, having a discussion about who deserves to be in and why. It should be a simple, anonymous ballot. And that should be only part of the equation. Computer ranking + Human ranking (combined committee rankings). And if we can’t decide which computer ranking system to use, combine them all into one ranking, as well.

Not so fast.....LSU will move into the Number 1 spot when they beat Georgia. Ohio State will be at the 2 slot and play Clemson. Sad to say that Joe will not get a shot at the buckeyes if this scenario plays out. Clemson is better than the buckeyes and will beat their butt....I would take Clemson over Ohio State anytime. I do think Clemson has played a weaker schedule and thus created some concerns by Swinney...... My preference would be the tigers stat at 2 and beat clemson with a shot at Ohio State in the Championship game...jus saying!!

This isnt the BCS era. The SEC has not dominated the CFP Championship game

I mean, it seems pretty clear that they are trying to orchestrate certain matchups. I'm not sure why this is not as good a theory as any for their motivation in doing so. They also want to be able to say they picked the best 4. At the end of the day, if it can be shown logically they have done that (I think it will be), few in the general public are going to worry about any quibbles regarding seeding.

The opposite would be true if I thought they had an agenda.
They would think Clem and OSU are the best two and want them in the ship. So they don't want them to play in the Semi's.
But Bama losing made OSU's resume a little better than ours.

And this is why it needs to be blown up.
The committee is not there to garner inclusiveness and fairness. They are there to seed the best teams in the order that the teams should be in.
There should be no motive of region, ratings or anything else except which teams are best

well this just isn't realistic
and even if it was, "best" is still subjective when these teams haven't played each other
