The only significant loss in the portal is CJ Daniels

Looking at all of them, on CJ, in my opinion is significant. All of the others have not developed, given themselves the chance or do not have the patience to develop, or when given a chance to play, they could not perform (Sage Ryan).

Some argue Pimpton, but he is unproven and had the opportunity right in front of him to go get the starting job this spring, but he choose to leave.

When looking at the newcomers from the portal, it looks like pure gold! I know they may not all pan out, but on paper, BK have really done a great job of upgrading the roster.

Suggs, Sampson, Womack, and Atkins are losses also, but mainly due to loss of quality depth.

So would you say that any player that isn’t a starter wouldn’t be a loss?

Daniels, Suggs and Pimpton were the head scratchers. But we are adding better dudes at each of those positions

Has Daniels found another school?

We already brought in one WR better than him. Hill may end up being better and Nic Anderson would be too

So how’s it a loss?

Serious Nagging hell problem kept him from playing 100% all year.

We have better receivers now.

I like the kid, but its not a huge loss.

I'd really like to keep Kylin Jackson around

CJ had 400 yds and 0 TDs.

I’d rather have Big Pimptin back.

Did I hear that Womack had issues with the culture of the program?

Atkins

I think this is a big loss for depth.

Those are the 3 I would have picked to stay if given that option. Some say Atkins and he would probably be my 4th but LSU isn't short of LBers, so I'll just narrow it down to those 3...Daniels, Suggs, and Pimpton which was your list.

Sage Ryan

He is better than the rant thinks, but it is still not a significant loss I would say.

I looked up portal ratings yesterday and rechecked a few this morning. Some have changed but typically one or two positions either way.

This is basically their positions +/- 2 on ON3

Da'Shawn Womack - 35
Xavier Atkins - 141
Jyaire Brown - 149
Rickie Collins - 180
Sage Ryan - 192
Kylin Jackson - 199
Jay'Viar Suggs - 204
Ka'Morreun Pimpton - 216
JK Johnson - 278
Shelton Sampson Jr. - 319
Bernard Causey III - 364
Landon Ibieta - 407
Jordan Allen - 483
De'Myrion Johnson - 494
Nathan Dibert - 1625

Incoming

Barrion Brown - 14
Mansoor Delane - 64
Ja'Keem Jackson - 76
Jack Pyburn - 87
Michael Van Buren - 95
Bauer Sharp - 125
Jimari Butler - 154

Daniels is a big loss, no question. He's an excellent route runner and has the hands to win the 50-50 balls.

It appears he's narrowed his choices down to Miami, Ole Miss or Auburn.

I'm curious why LSU didn't have more money for him to keep him from transferring. The guy doing the talking for him is described as his agent, so you know he's out to grab more money, even if it's only a few more thousand.

The line the agents are using is that every time you transfer you can expect a "raise." Hence, the guys who seem to be annual transfers.

I don’t consider CJ important. He is a solid role player, but that’s easily replaced. The lack of explosive plays from him makes him forgettable, imo.

Pimpton is the bigger loss due to his potential to make big plays.

Maybe they decided he wasn’t worth more money.

Wasn’t Daniels playing injured most of the year too?
