The "New" Bats: Do you enjoy baseball more now than before??

With the advent of the new (BBCOR) bats in HS ball this year, there has been the predicted drop off in homers, just as with college ball previously.
What I've noticed is comebackers to the pitcher seem to be coming just as fast (OK, maybe .02 sec slower) as before, but long balls are almost extinct in HS ballparks with college dimensions, and the ball just seems to die. Bunts and small ball is up. Outfielders are playing way in. Pitchers don't have to worry about the long ball anymore. Even a fastball down the middle most likely will die on the track for most hitters now.
Of course, everyone has to play by the same rules, but the question is this, ARE YOU ENJOYING THE GAME OF BASEBALL AS MUCH NOW (IN HS AND COLLEGE) AS YOU DID 3 YEARS AGO???

I enjoy winning. If LSU goes to Omaha playing small ball, I could care less.

Do you like sex better with a condom on?

Less than 3 years ago, and a lot less than 10 years ago(or whenever they first made the adjustment to the bats).

I liked it better three years ago. 10 years ago was too easy. At least three years ago was still a challenge. Now I like it the least of all.

Perfect analogy. Or like an exotic car with a governor...

I think the first bat restrictions were good enough but this latest adjustment is ridiculous.
You would have just as much offense with wood bats and if that's the way you want to go, screw the aluminum bat makers, and go to wood.
LSU could hook up with Marucci and be like the majors.

College baseball has done itself a huge disservice with the bats. It's what made it unique. Now, it's just a watered down version of the pro game with much worse players. They have worsened their product immensely.

My fear is, this new bat formula will lead to a game of more offspeed pitching. It's hard to get the ball out of the park now on anything but a fastball, so why throw them when you can get popups and lame grounders?
I think one thing that made games interesting is the threat of a ball leaving the park on any kind of pitch. Go to any HS game, and look where the OF is playing. It's like a Par 3 golf tournament.
Are they playing with these "new" bats in the Dominican, or anywhere else? Is this preparing American kids appropriately for pro ball down the road? How many big hitters in HS will be benched in favor of small guys who can run and bunt? Just saying, this will be a byproduct of the new bats. There will be an effect for college ball in 3 years.

Yea, they took it a step too far this time. College is supposed to be more about the offense and hitting than majors. It's no different now and has made the game much less entertaining to watch imo.
I honestly feel that LSU using the aluminum Marucci bats would help some of our hitting woes. A big part of the problem is we don't have power hitters even like we've had in recent years like Dean, Schimpf, Ochinko, Mahtook, etc. But the Marucci bats are the best I've swung with and certainly much better than what we use now.

MUCH LESS. Gorilla ball may have been a little on the too much of a good thing side but what we have now is a watered down version of the game. Bring some of the bounce back & let the game play on outside of the infield or shallow outfield.

They absolutely had to fix the mid 90s bats. They absolutely did not have to "fix" anything about the mid 2000s bats. It's embarrassing the way they kowtowed to the complaints of bunch of lazy MLB scouts, most of whom harbor an irrational dislike of college baseball in the first place.
Do I enjoy the game more? no.

Its a different game, but not less enjoyable to me. I do wish we went back to the 2009 bats though.

While I enjoy the focus on pitching and defense, I would like the bats to be recalibrated somewhere between the current version and the first iteration of a few years ago. The pitchers are much better rewarded now, but there are so many marginal hitters in the college game a ~ +10% bat increase would make the sport a lot more enjoyable. Some recent bunt attempts make me cringe from a player safety standpoint.

It wasn't MLB scouts complaining about the bats it was NCAA coaches and one of them leading the parade was Tim Corbin at Vandy

While LSU would have been in ok shape, probably, many schools couldn't afford wood bats and breakage. High schools definitely couldn't, and not many parents would shell out the money for 6-10 good wood bats per season for their kid. We're talking 1200-3000 per player on a high school level.
FWIW, I don't think LSU uses Marucci bbcor so why would BidM provide them with wood bats.
Eta: I like it more now.

If LSU's home runs were way down last year with top gorilla hitters, can you imagine what it is doing in High School ball this year. Most HS teams don't have a lineup like the Tigers.
HS coaches are going to do what they need to do to win, just like a college coach. With the lack of oomph on long hits, if that means bunting and small ball, then that is what they will do. And to that end, it means quickness. And quickness means smaller and smaller players, who hit it even less far. And there aren't enough good catchers to keep those little guys from running and running.
That leaves guys who are big hitters but a little slower in a position where they are sacrificed for more team speed, because their main advantage has been decimated.
This is how I see the game of baseball morphing in to. What comes out of HS ball will filter into college ball. Hence my OP. For you who like small ball, welcome to heaven. For the rest of us who liked a game which used the whole field, welcome to reality.

To an extent sure but there was pressure from the pros as well.
