Do yourself a favor. Find a shoe store in your area that caters to runners. The staff will be knowledgable in helping you find the correct shoe. If your within 2 hours of NOLA, I suggest Louisiana Running Company on Canal. They will fit you and video analyze your gait.
Additionally, when you find the right pair order as many of them as you can afford. I have a 4 pair backlog of asics kayano. Change your shoes at least every 300 miles. I change mine the first of every quarter

This. I was diagnosed as a teen. My parents refused meds and I managed to get a bachelors degree, in 8 years. I came to a point in my professional career that I realized I needed to do something. I have been on Adderall XR for 4 years, now. I can't express how my career has taken off since then. I was always intelligent, but had no way to focus my efforts.
My 12 year old has been on Vivanse for 2-3 years now. When a child with a documented IQ of 140+ is making C and D grades, and you believe as a parent something will help him (it has), you HAVE to do something.

I tried my best to not drop that kinda coin on a shotgun for him, but he is a real good shot. He's been outshooting and outhunting me for 3 yrs. Deal is he is starting to shoot competitively, and he needed a gun that he could fire 100-150 times on any given day. He shot a full 100 rd box through it this afternoon. Missed first 2 clays, then was on after that.
Did the same thing yesterday with a 35lb draw bow. After he sent 5 or so down range he was on from 20-25.

My journey to a half marathon starts tomorrow. As of now I can run a 5k with relative ease and at 32:00.
Ran a 5k followed by a 25 mile bike ride weekend before last.
Hard to believe the person I was at ~300# less than 5 months ago.
