The most realistic coaching hire

So I am a part of almost every pay and non pay site that talks LSU sports. From a process of elimination and from all the news I have read, it sure seems like Cliff Godwin should be the betting favorite. It seems like Schloss will be A&M bound. Sully is ruled out. Tennessee will match all offers on Vitello and promise him anything he wants. McDonnell never came to BR like some reports have said and he seems like a long shot. So if I was a betting man...I’d put my money on Godwin!

I believe you are correct especially if PM has a lot of input on the hire! I still think the best fit for this program and this fan base is Andy Cannazzaro and he would do a tremendous job!

i'm coming around on Godwin.
Which means he probably won't be the guy

Hope you’re wrong.

What if they beat Vandy?

What's the current ND coach up to? They have a nice, relatively newer small ballpark on campus up here, but support for ND baseball is poor.

Why is it that every candidate mentioned elicits a “god I hope not” response? Are you all that knowledgeable? Clearly you are all better than Mainieri, since you critique his use of the pitching staff. Let Woodward hire someone and deal with it.

Bc message boards are a collection of different minds and there's no one candidate that everyone here will ever agree on.

The rant: we want a young, hungry, successful coach!
What about chris Godwin?
Also the rant: God no I hope not!

I find it odd you failed to mention Bianco. I think he is the odds on favorite at this point

Pretty good credentials. Didn't know he was assistant coach for LSU. Has a lot of SEC experience.
Cliff Godwin
Cliff Godwin

Apparently he hasn’t passed the vetting process bc he’s young and has the rep of slaying young poon.

Wonder why Godwin left LSU for the same job at UCF?

Yep....that was my guess a week or so in a post on here. It just feels like the hire

Cause Javi was better
So Maineri asked him to look elsewhere?

You and me both.
I'm not getting why other than coaching at 3B for a couple of years at LSU makes him such a strong candidate for the job.
Yes, he seems to be a reasonably succesful coach ...in the American Athletic Conference!
Didn't Tennessee try this by thinking Serrano's success at Fullerton would carry over in the SEC?

People want Woodward to fail and mess this up in Alleva-like fashion. That is the only reason I can think of, because yes from basically the word go people have been freaking out about every name on the board.
