Terminal velocity for a baseball is 95 mph. This is the maximum velocity a baseball will reach if dropped from a very high point. After that, wind resistance and gravity are in equilibrium.
A HR is not a dropped ball, and it has a horizontal velocity component, but I’d expect the ball would slow down a lot as gravity and wind resistance eat away at it. Gravity would then start speeding it up (or down) as it dropped, but the wind resistance is still working away at it.
I’m too old and lazy to calculate it, but I’m going to guess that it’s traveling in the 60’s mph when a fan catches it.
