The LSU administration has exactly the fan base they’ve asked for in the stadium

Since at least the early 2000s they’ve publicly, consistently valued big wallets over loyalty.

Now they want to cry about lack of loyalty when people would rather stay home and watch on TV or leave at halftime. I have less than zero sympathy.

People need to stop making excuses for the people who leave early. It’s embarrassing.

They're also getting exactly what they want out of that Blockparty set up.

People not having any real connection or loyalty is what’s happening, not an excuse. But you continue with your rah rah.

It was better than I thought it would be in the first half. Honestly, with a blowout game in the rain, I’ve seen worse.

Honestly it looks pretty lame compared to a traditional tailgate, but there is no doubt a demand for it.

People said last week the reason why people leave early is because of the offense playing terrible. I’m just trying to keep up with the new excuse every week.

This describes EVERY major college team. There is no way to be competitive in the 'arms race' if you don't do this.

The question is, "why do these big-wallet LSU fans leave early when other team's big-wallet fans don't leave early?"

I agree that LSU has not helped attendance. However Ole Miss was one of if not THE cheapest priced SEC ticket at $50. Even State is more at $55.

Na that’s a lame excuse, I agree when they refused to remove Miles or make him change.

But now, they improved the product on the field. And the piped in music, every school is doing that now. What else you wanna complain about??

Alleva should still be fired though

My perception is that fans used to go for a football game with some partying (tailgating) on the side. Now, “fans” go for a party with (part of) a football game on the side. It’s not just LSU, though.

Honestly, I. See no problem with people leaving a game at midnight when victory is assured and it has been raining for several hours.

Ding. Ding. Ding.

Why do people leave early? Because the difference between leaving at the end of the third and the end of the fourth quarters is another 2 hours to get to New Orleans or Lafayette if you wait.

Screw the rah rah rah BS. If you have an 815 kickoff you damn well better make it easy to leave when the game ends close to midnight.

You have to tackle the root cause of the problem, but that might be too much to ask of our school, our city, and our state.

That is a fair assessment OF LAST NIGHT. I think everyone will concede that point. The problem is, last night was the same as every other game. Rain or shine, tight game or blowout, the stands empty after halftime.

Nobody is saying these folks don't have a right to leave whenever they want. I think the questions are:

1) Why does it happen?
2) Why does it seem to affect LSU more that virtually every other program?

This x10, every week it’s a different excuse. If I were a player I’ll be pissed to look up & see the crowd emptying out. They say give us something to cheer for, & fans will stay. Well it was plenty to cheer for last night not to mention we’re ranked #5. Shame on you Tiger Nation

I started walking down the stands with a little more than a minute left on the clock in the 4th. Game was over when I got to the gate.
