Was one of my all time favorite LSU games. 2011 (4)LSU vs (3)Oregon in Dallas for the season opener.

Regardless of how it ended, that game set the stage for one of the greatest seasons in LSU history. After the game I remember thinking that Oregon was overrated, but turns out they had just faced one of the greatest defenses to ever take a college football field.

Highlights

Here's hoping this years Tigers dominate UCLA to open the 2021 season the same way.

hopefully one of our DL will run down a UCLA back from behind again (and behind the Line of Scrimmage)

I was very upset with how that season ended. LSU had done everything right to earn a natty abd got screwed into playing a rematch that altered CFB forever. Regardless of all that, that game is one of my all time favorites and fun to rewatch. That tackle by Mingo in the backfield is just….. *chefs kiss*

That’s the one off-season I really commend Les for preparing the team. They were ready for that fast offense. Quickness/Speed of LSU was unreal

Another thing I remember from being at that game - I think it has to be the hottest event I have ever attended.

Not an ounce of shade around that stadium.

Had a blast though!

I would argue that the badger’s greatness had alot to do with the offense being dogshit. He is probably the best LSU player ever no doubt. However..saying that he isn’t walking on the field when we have the best corner tandem in the past 10 years and the deepest defensive line ever is kinda.....suspect.

The video made me curious about lesmiles.net. I guess it used to be the official LSU Football web site?

Mingo chasing down La’ichael James, who was dubbed “the. Fastest man in football” before the game, from behind was epic.

This. Had to be one of “well, we just shite ourselves” moments for the entire broadcast crew before and during that game. I’ll never forget the bragging. Then Minho walked his arse down from behind like Bolt would people. Funny shite.

They got their dose of speed and unbelievable quickness with Mathieu. Oregon wanted nothing to do with that defense.

That was only a 3 point game at halftime and only 13 point total? For some reason I remember it being much worse. It sure felt like it.

Correct

2011 Oregon was the best team in their program's history, up to that point. Better than the 2010 team that lost in the natty.

Oregon scored some garbage time TDs but we killed them in the second half

If he can run down La' Michel James that easy, just think about those little boys he ran down. They never had a chance.
