That was his only assist of the night. I found that pretty interesting.... Jason Williams was pretty damn good, too.

Must not have seen Brandon Larson or Todd Walker play SS!

I saw brandon play short at lsu. But you are right about todd, i only saw him play 2nd base at an adequate level defensively

Milam does not make many plays to his arm-side.

Granted, bregman made more wow plays.

He is great at a lot of things though. Going to his left, charging balls. His hands and throw accuracy rival any SS ive seen at LSU.

Yep, his smoothness, consistency, quickness, and accuracy are super underrated to me

THIS.....

We had some good ones, but his defense is damn near perfect.
I would say he is tied with the best!

I can tell you for a fact you didn’t see one of those play SS either.

Thats a bit of a stretch. He is good, but LSU has had a lot of good SSs in the past.

All the downvotes and I’d love for someone to post a defensive SS with a better fielding percentage in LSU history.
Austin Nola .980 in his jr and sr year. Milam is at .977 both are elite.

Milam has had some rough times this year, but tell me who you would rather have in the clutch? Guy has been a rock star.

Milam and Jones both made some tough balls look easy.

Great athletes make plays look easy and effortless. Milam has done that at a very tough position to play

I don't know about their stats, but Andy Sheets, Austin Nola, and Alex Bregman were pretty good shortstops too. We have been blessed over the years with lots of great players both at shortstop and second base.

Idk man Bregman was solid. He had way more balls hit at him since the new balls caused the strikeouts to go up and he still had pretty much the same fielding percentage as Milam. Not to mention Bregman would make plays on balls that would probably be considered hits on most fielders

Best infield at LSU since______? It might be the best. Those double plays were huge.

We have basically 3 shortstops playing in the infield. Jared is also a solid 1st baseman.
