The “it’s year 1 crowd” is insufferable

Same shite was said about Brian Kelly. Not going for it on 4th and 1 vs. Kentucky. Completely unprepared in the first half versus Ole Miss. He has been outclassed left and right by inferior coaches.
Roster construction is not the same as it was a decade ago , even if we have good recruiting classes it’ll be hard to get guys to stick around. We are going to have to rely heavily on portal which is extremely volatile and unreliable - some rosters just don’t mesh even if you get the so called “best available.”
I’m not saying he can’t turn this program around. But if you can truthfully say this is the start you were expecting given the amount of money spent and staff we have, you are lying to yourself.

Deboer went 9-4 in his first season at bama in this same era. Seems comparable.
Different era, but kirby was 8-5 his first year at georgia.
Who else is just bowling over this conference? Its hard, and the good ones get better after a year or 2 at their new place.

Who cares about money spent?
It means nothing.
This was a 7-6 team last year…7-6.
It feels like they’re better, and should win more than 7 games. We will see. That would be improvement.

Have to coach the BK out of this team. I am absolutely loving the blowing out of bad teams (Clemson, A&M) something BK let teams stick around.
Just have to close out road games. Something LK can do, he won in Norman last year

Can you name a single team who did a better job in the portal? Kiffin killed the portal last year from a “get who you want” standpoint and from a “panned out” standpoint.
The fans who convinced themselves that being a championship team was something so easy that it could be done in one offseason are by far the most ignorant ones.
When every loss seems like a debacle to you, the problem is you.

And it’s gotten us 2 losses to start the season. This only proves my point that the portal is not sustainable and isn’t something that should be relied on.
