We’ve not beaten UK at their place since the bluegrass miracle

Did you expect to drum Clemson and A&M?

You are one of those irrational fans everyone is referring when they say we all expect national championship year 1 or he will be run out of town.

Did I expect a natty ? NO.
Did I expect to beat Kentucky on the road? YES.

You people automatically assume any criticism comes from some “delusional fan” who expected us to go undefeated or some shite.

My expectations were 9-3 and we are not even halfway thru the season and have two losses with 3 out of 4 of our toughest games remaining in the @Tenn, bama at home , and Texas at home.

Can you name a single team who did a better job in the portal? Kiffin killed the portal last year from a “get who you want” standpoint and from a “panned out” standpoint.

One of these days fans are going to wake up and finally realize that even most of the so called “best players” in the portal are still not all that great or else they wouldn’t be in the portal. Do yall really think most power 4 teams are just going to let their elite players walk and go to the portal?

Sam Leavitt was considered the #1 overall portal player throughout the portal window and while yes he’s got his good moments but he’s far from elite or a game changer. Most teams will go bankrupt in order to keep their best players like Trinidad Chambliss and Kewan Lacy for example

Before the season we had a lot of posts about the SEC hating us and getting screwed by the refs.
Well…….
They grabbed Princewell’s jersey with two hands on every play. They grabbed the whole DL all night. I think they had one holding call on an outside run by a WR nothing on an OL.
They held both DT’s jerseys on the 2 point play clear as day, everyone is looking at the huge gap if its a holding call they go back to the 13 yard line.
On that play they ruled a catch the receiver landed on the DB it’s an automatic incomplete pass.
The fourth down stop they allowed to continue was total BS.
I say it’s collusion against us. Prove me wrong. This crew full of new SEC officials, i am sure question 1 about hiring a new ref “where are you from”
If you answer Louisiana “stop and hand in your application” in 40 years i think we have had ONE ref from in state.

This only proves my point that the portal is not sustainable

It was said at the very beginning that lane does not want to just rely on the portal but his arms were kind of tied when he was hired and expected to start recruiting at the end of the cycle. Some of y’all’s memory is short.

It feels like they’re better, and should win more than 7 games. We will see. That would be improvement.

Breath of fresh air. I got flamed night of for saying that this team is so much more fun to watch

We’re already getting a better product halfway into the first season

The sky isn't falling bud. You are irrational if you think year 1 we will only lose 3. What makes you think we go from a 7-5 team to a 9-3 team in one year with new starters at almost every position? I saw us going 7-5 or 8-4.

No it hasn't. The portal has made this team much, much better than it would be otherwise.

You are retarded.

Roster construction is not the same as it was a decade ago

People who say this and think it means year-one expectations should be tempered when taking over a struggling program are the insufferable ones.

Yes, there are more options, but there is more to creating a cohesive, championship-caliber team, even with that caliber player, than simply stacking players.

I’m not saying he can’t turn this program around.

You're certainly implying that.

quote:

But if you can truthfully say this is the start you were expecting given the amount of money spent and staff we have, you are lying to yourself.

Did I expect to have 2 losses now? No.

Did I think it was a possibility? Sure.

You're delusional if you think any rational person expected this season to be free of any bumps in the road. Hopeful, sure, but expected it, not at all.

If you don't see the difference between getting assblasted at home by Tennessee in year one like BK did versus losing squeakers to Ole Miss and Kentucky on the road, I can't help you.

I mean that’s fair. But does that not make it more frustrating? We have the more talented roster and have superior coaches than both those teams on paper.

Agreed. We didnt oay top dollar for a roster to build for some future that no ine knows might come.

These 2 losses are absolute disasters and were penciled in as wins.

Team has no leadership. I predict an implosion, with Baker being fired, maybe after an abysmal showing against a bad team
