quote:Not sure where this idea comes from. I have lived in 3 different states outside of Louisiana and have never experienced ‘vitriol’. And when I wear my LSU gear, people usually come up to me and start talking about college football or one of the great players from LSU
We are, as a fanbase and as a culture, despised by the rest of the country, especially the SEC. I live outside of Louisiana and truly see and feel this vitriol.

I will never not cheer for the Tigers and I love CLK.

While that’s certainly true, LSU finds itself as uniquely the bad guy right now. It’s en vogue to hate on the school and the coach.
The Kiffin leaving during Ole Miss playoff run, Will Wade hire and then the alleged signing of “NFL” players has created a unique vitriol all its own.
Therefore, I argue we should be uniquely different in support and not be like others. We need overarching support right now, even when there are some reasons to have some frustration.
No other school is hated like LSU and no coach like Kiffin. We need to recognize that and rally around it…not add wood to the fire against our team.

What about the people that did spend money on these players? And are not getting the ROI they were promised?
Imagine typing this out about a bunch of 18-22 college football players.

That’s the unfortunate world we live in with college athletics right now.
You either play the game or you lose.

There’s only one winner every year. So you either accept the risk of throwing $50 million to put a team together or you don’t.

I’m sure they’re really upset about all of this orrrr they don’t give a shite. You’re acting like the fan base walked away.
Wrong. A vocal minority like on this board are a bunch of embarrassingly emotional and over reactive women. The team is fine and the fans still support them. No need to rally because no one left.

If he stays around long enough. History has him leaving LSU for greener pastures.
What greener pastures??? He has all the support he can ever hope for at a top five program in a top three talent state with no other in state program.
Oh and was told by the goat that this is the best and easiest place to build and maintain a dynasty. You’re a moron congrats

You make it sound like Kiffin decided to go to war by taking a job that pays him $13 million a year and gives him basically everything he asks for lol

This season reminds me of 2014.
Get a big win in the opener, beat some lesser teams, get exposed by two quality teams (Miss St and Auburn back then), then have a scrappy team the rest of the way that can hang.

It’s been 6 weeks. Not 6 years man. Get a grip. It will take time.

The players need to play better. The coaches need to coach better. They are all paid very well and are not holding up their end.. seems to me like they have their money and dont give a crap. I hate NIL.

I’m aware, just expect a better product than what we currently have for that amount of money.

If he wins everything is fine.
If he loses fans are going to bitch.
This is football and this is how football has always been.
I don’t understand the problem. I’m sure Lane is well aware of how all this works.

I understand and agree with everything else you said but not this. I also live out of state and wear LSU gear everywhere. Never met anyone that hated LSU. Most are indifferent or like LSU because of the brand and culture. Now this year I have started to run into a lot of people that hate Kiffin. So maybe that’s what you’re referring to?

Yes, and what I’m seeing and hearing is LSU, and even Louisiana, by approximation. People are viewing LSU as a rogue entity. It’s media and social media driven, but I believe to be a current phenomenon.
