So the season hasnt even started and you want to demote our HC and promote our DC?
No better time than the present.

Because demoting your head coach, even if he has a successful year, to promote someone to head coach who has absolutely no experience or track record and may or may not be a good HC always works out great. If Orgeron is fired then sure, let's throw Aranda's name in the hat but otherwise that would be fricking retarded and would make our program look like the biggest joke in the history of college football if it didn't work out
I agree.... this is a ridiculous scenario at this point. But I would have preferred Aranda over Orgeron in January. Aranda is not a proven Head Coach.... but it's been proven that Orgeron is not a good head coach. I guess I'm missing something?

1. The LSUAD, our fans, and most importantly, Coach O, are treating Dave Aranda very well. He is our #2 coach and seems to have total control over the Defense.
2. At $1.85 million this year, CDA makes more money than most FBS head coaches. And he has a three year contract with built in raises. He has and is earning this money and none of us seems to complain about his high pay.
3. The only steps up he can take from where he is now are (1) to a Power 5 HC position or (2) an NFL coordinator position. I am hoping that LSU will be willing to pay CDA even more so it won't just be for money that he takes a new job.
4. If he wants to be a coordinator in the NFL, he will take that job when offered and there's little we can do about that. It would be Saban in Dec, 2004 all over again.
5. I am not sure if CDA has the charisma or is even willing to take a Power 5 HC position if it was offered. I know he is competent enough to be a bigtime HC, but is that what he wants?

Not that I think they're even very relatable situations, but we all thought the same thing about Cameron after 2013 and look how it played out. You never know how things will end up. Honestly if anything, I see him leaving for an NFL DC position over a head coaching gig based on all the conversations/descriptions of him.

have you ever seen a HC get demoted to an assistant coach at the same school?

Is it the same person who starts this thread every time, or different people?

And an assistant coach promoted to HC at the same time?
That would be crazy, trouble, and a joke in CF especially if the Tigers has a very good fb season. Just let the season plays out but in the end I think there is a great chance that Aranda would leave after this season if the Tigers has a successful season because you just can not pay an assistant coach higher than a HC.

Wake up, you're dreaming. This is one of the most foolish topics I've ever read on TD, and that's saying something...

Fickell was a stop gap between Tressel and Urban Meyer. That isn't quite the same situation.

Seems like Arranda was on staff last year and didn't get the job. For a reason?

That is ridiculous comparison. The offense was way under performing in 2013 many posters on this board realized that.

I hate to start this topic right now but we will be facing this situation soon. Aranda will be getting offers sll over the country after this year. We simply cannot let this guy leave. He is saban part two. Anyone with any football knowledge can see this. What do we do to keep him. I would offer Ed DC position and recruiting guru. Like saban Dave would keep running the defense. Ed is s premier Dline coach. Just my take
STFU! He isn't going anywhere.
