Les was fearful of losing the team and therefore his job...LSU became an easy chair for him...he definitely played favorites because of the aforementioned...the examples already mentioned by other posters are obviously applicable...

Les just had like the best 3 year stretch of recruiting in the history of the program if going by recruiting rankings.
Recruiting rankings mean jack shite. You should know this...hell, Miles always had top ranking classes only to flounder in November in recent years. There are still some glaring holes on this team that should have already been addressed in the recruiting process but weren't.

the level of intellect of this fan bas is embarrasing
Says the guy that still defends Les Miles.
And no, this thread was about the nonsensical disciplinary actions taken by Miles for on field mistakes.
Plus when taken into consideration the incongruous application of discipline for player mistakes and other novel notions like "utilizing the passing game to loosen up the run," and "building an offense around player strengths and weaknesses" it's really amazing that Miles remained the HC for as long as he did.
Other teams have done better with less talent. Miles got top tier talent and didn't utilize them.
Meanwhile placing his faith in talent that did not manifest.
Not True?

He was the boss who let our OL and DL get depleted of dominating players...just the facts, ma'am...

It's been a different type of discipline. O has been uniform and across the board, especially where it counts. Practice hard and effective , if not you don't play. If you practice that way, you play that way. If you only discipline (selectively ) for in game mistakes you don't accomplish anything other than defeating a kid when it comes to performance. Teach him to practice the right way and in game mistakes will decrease and the anxiety to make them will also decrease. Likewise , when the team as a whole plays crappy or without motivation, you rip the whole and not an individual. Les didn't discipline in practice. He didn't work time management. He didn't work special teams against an opposing 11. He didn't want failure in practice. Total different mentality. Let them fail in practice and learn there , then practice better and perform great.

If I was Les it would have been Team Sweep for Perrilloux.

The only ones you pop up in are still to eKnight for Miles.
You aren't an LSU fan or if you are, that comes a distant second to Miles fan cock rider

Les showed favoritism. Simple as that
no doubt, and it killed the moral of the team...that and his offense was offensive to watch

He benched Jeremy Hill for a fumble, which he recovered. His benching arguably helped cost LSU that game against Ole Miss.
You sure about that?
Edit: Just looked it up. He fumbled on the first play from scrimmage and got the next 2 carries. He finished the game with 16 carries.
Also, not all fumbles are created equal. If you have good ball security and the ball is ripped away on a great defensive play, that is one thing. If you run into the back of a player, don't have the ball secured, and it comes out, that isn't near the same thing.
The biggest problem with the Ole Miss game was trying to air it out so much in the first place. Stupid

Yet Mett threw two interceptions (al least ) against OM in his Sr. season and continued to play after that.
I hate what happened to Lee, but really not similar situations. We had 2 qbs that year, and just 1 real option in 2013.
Mile has a lot of faults, but his handling of running backs, especially with ball security, was not an issue.

I gave up trying to understand what goes on inside that man's head a long time ago.

Because it was 9-0 at the half and Les was afraid of a quick pick 6 putting it out of reach.

Like score had anything whatsoever to do with it. Or halftime. The score creeped up to 21, and time continued to tick. And at no time did Les ever give Lee one series.
Anyone that has been remotely close to the program will tell you, it's well known, Les played favorites. If you were a favorite, you were given MUCH more leeway. If you were not a favorite, you were thrown into the doghouse forever. And many former players don't like the fact that people that earned positions were passed over because they weren't a fave of Les.

He is no longer the coach. Let it go!!!
Posted on 10/18/16 at 8:36 am to SP2016
Much of what Les Miles did as a coach in game made little sense. So glad he will be coaching at Purdue! Geaux Boilermakers! Beat Notre Dame...Maybe he can find another Bob Greise or Drew Brees....NOT!

Well at least he was able to get some top notch QBs...

This. He was a gross underachiever while at LSU. None was better at underachievement than good ole Leslie Miles. This was the source of great frustration among the Tiger faithful, his 'great' record be damned. The program was on the express elevator to hell since 1/9 and quite possibly before that.
I am amazed that he has yet even a handful of apparently die hard supporters who cannot see that he was not going to take LSU anywhere it wanted to be again...ever. That much is certain. So, hiring a new coach is a risk? Well guess what, so is life. I had quit posting because I saw the writing on the wall with CLM.
I feel optimistic about LSU football for the first time in years and it is good. Maybe Beefense, RickDaddy, Choctaw and the others will become Purdue fans now. Wooooooohooooooo!

I like how Coach O is putting a lot of value into practice. Practice hard, you get some playing time. Be lazy during the week, sit your arse on the bench!

So far they are responding as they had not under the previous coach for a long time.
