The difference between how you drive and your significant other.

We drive a lot on 2+ hour trips on 2 lane roads. When I drive she frequently naps. If another vehicle is driving 60 mph, I'm fine. An aside, I usually wait 30 minutes or more after the car is loaded, before she is ready. It's dealing with traffic i.e. trucks, farm vehicles, road work...I'm cool.
When she drives, It's a constant bitchfest. "Did you see that truck pull out off that side road". "Look at this idiot that speeds up when I can pass". "I can't believe these traffic lights are so screwed up".
She is for the most part a nice person.

I am for the most part, a much better driver than my wife. She begrudgingly concedes that fact.

I drive whatever the speed limit is +15. She drives whatever the speed limit is. So I always drive to avoid it taking half a day extra to get anywhere.

if she's nice to everybody else and is mean when in the car then you should just be happy that she feels safe and comfy enough to be herself around you.

I hate the way mine drives
Doesn’t maintain steady speed
Doesn’t anticipate lane changing

My wife sometimes tells me I too far behind the vehicle ahead of us and need to close the gap. Other than someone pulling out in front of us, I don't see an issue with avoiding potentially rear ending someone.

Both of us relax and drive defensively and not like an a-hole. Neither are in a race to ‘make record time’.

Wife and I do great on road trips. She's a great driver, and a better navigator. Her dad used to drive Hotshot and she would navigate.

I don’t let mine drive. She may look like a honkey, but her driving skills scream elderly Asian lady.

My SO is a danger to the general public and should have her license revoked.

My wife rear ended by car while parking a couple weeks ago. Completely sober.

Mine doesn't need a gas pedal... it's either to the floor, or nothing.. I have permanent whip lash.
Need just an go and stop switch on the steering wheel for her.

I drive 99% of the time that we are in the car together. The only time I can remember her driving was when I damn near cut my finger off with a chop saw and she drove me to urgent care.
I drive the limit +8, anticipate traffic patterns and adjust lane changes and gaps. I'm always aware of other cars and obstacles. I can navigate while holding a conversation.
She drives anywhere from 10 mph below the limit to 15 over, with no apparent pattern or reasoning. She will slow down for a car that's braking half a mile ahead, and then the next minute barely stop from someone crossing the road RIGHT IN FRONT OF US.
She will get in a lane and just stay there. If the car in front is going slow she won't notice until she's been creeping along behind if for miles. Then gripe about it and still just sit there.
If she's talking to me while driving there's a 75% chance she's going to miss a turn.
I have a really good relationship with her dad and I'm often tempted to tell him "sir you raised an amazing daughter in most respects. So I must assume your wife taught her how to drive".

I can't relax when mine is driving. It's either close calling with a curb, slamming on brakes, or almost backing in to someone if in a parking lot setting.
Needless to say, I do 99% of the driving. The two weeks after my ACL surgery in which I couldn't drive were hellacious.

I started driving my MIL around when my wife passed. She was always grateful for me hauling her around. She was very vocal about other drivers and her favorite comment was something like, “look at that crazy Ahole”. I can still here her when I encounter someone else’s bad driving even after she has been gone 2+ years.

I've had to get my wife's rims refinished multiple times because of curb rash, yes; I am the better driver.

My wife has a St. Christopher's medallion on her visor, he has his hands over his eyes. The last time I rode with her, I felt like I was supposed to shooting at the car behind us.

She is not Asian. She drives "competitively". It's like I have to win and get where I'm going before you". Rather, I'm late and It's not my fault that you are slowing me up.
This.
