The Defense is not a “Pelini Problem.” It’s a Covid Problem.

Look at all the games so far this season across the board. Obviously defenses are not ready for the season to start—it takes longer to get a defense ready, ESPECIALLY a young defense under a brand new scheme.

No Pelini is not the problem. We had to quarantine these guys to prevent a worse pandemic, and the short preparation time is the problem, and not just with LSU.

Give Bo a chance, everywhere he’s been he has succeeded. Heck, look at his Nebraska record compared to Frost. Take it easy on him.

Geaux Tigers.

Alabama had no opt outs and many returning play makers and still gave up almost 700 yards to Ole Miss.

I guarantee you with Aranda we do not give up 600+ yards to SEC bottom feeders

Crazy that every other team in the league has 2 losses to the bottom tier of the conference.

Oh wait...

Florida and Alabama apparently have the same problems and they didnt even change schemes and actually returned starters

I came in thinking this thread was going to be a bad "they're just trying to social distance from the offense!" joke

Ole miss had a dynamic offense last year and has arguable the best offensive play caller now as their head coach.

They aren’t Missouri or State. You know the team that just scored a grad total of 14 offensive points in the last 2 games.

Arkansas hadn't won a SEC game in 3 years, replaced their entire coaching staff, and still held State to 14.

Its a Pelini problem

so each player has an assignment, who to guard what area to cover etc and you blame it all on coaching? c'mon the players have some responsibility for not knowing their assignments. This shite show is on everyone

Yeah, defenses have been atrocious this year. It is worth noting that we've played garbage teams, a freshman QB in his first start, and a MSU team that only scored 2 points last week against Kentucky though.

Yes. His schemes were exceptionally poorly taught o the players. That’s coaching.

Now the effort to try and tackle someone after the scheme allowed for players to run wide fricking open is on the players.

Ya but I bet LSU will not give up more than 700 yards to that great play caller.

And yet they are 5-1 combined with the one loss coming to a ranked A&M team. Meanwhile we have loses to SEC juggernauts Mizzou and State who are a combined 0-4 against everyone else.

As bad as our defense has been, if we weren’t absolutely putrid offensively on 3rd down and in the red zone we’d be 3-0.

What gives you any confidence in saying that at this point?

Pelini is the problem! When you have players saying they are confused and don't have a clue what their doing on defense, yeah it's a Pelini problem!
