Wait, you don't like the fact that LSU Athletics has an official Injury Lawyer of LSU Athletics?

Alleva is incompetent regardless of the Wade hire.

Here's a thought: if you don't want to donate that extra money to the TAF, donate it to the University.

That was my initial thought as well, but I don't want to put money in incompetent F. King's hands either.

Its been 5 years since we've played a non-conference game vs a power 5 school in Tiger Stadium because Alleva keeps agreeing to neutral site games almost every year

Well that streak is ending this week. So at least there's that.

True, though I dont think many of us circled Syracuse on the schedule and got excited

Maybe we can be excited for the next one when Texas comes to BR in 2020

Really looking forward to the Oklahoma home-and-home for 2027-2028.

I was a freshman at LSU when that series was originally scheduled. I'll be 40 when(if) it finally gets played.

Does TAF have any pull with the BOS?

There is something rotten in the state of LSU athletics. It has to start at the top or it would not be that way as long as it has. This year of Tiger football is filled with foreboding.

As a TAF member who tends to donate more than just my season ticket dues, I can assure you that my "extra" money will start to dwindle if this shite show isn't fixed soon. The other members I know, some whom donate a substantial amount more than me, are beginning to trend that way as well.

Alleva is a problem. And that sentiment is starting to flow through TAF like wild fire

Good. The only way Alleva goes is if the athletic department starts to suffer financially. The TV money is gonna come regardless, and ticket sales don't make up a large enough part of the budget for the average Joe fans to make a difference.

It's gotta be the big TAF donors.

Sad thing is I wish our education sector of the University got 1/10th of the coverage as our athletics do. I want my degree to mean more. But our state politicians have decided it's ok to take advantage of its flagship university and others throughout the state by budget cut after budget cut.

Education has been crap for a while, but hey at least we got a good football team!

What's going to happen when the football team sucks as well?

There's still time for that one to become a one-time neutral site game or a neutral home-and-home.

That's still a decade away. It was first scheduled in 2005 to happen in 2018-19, and it's been delayed twice. Wake me when it happens.

People aren't going to keep paying out of the wazoo for 8-4 football. The fleecing of the fans is about to end, IMO.

The majority of big-ticket donors are writing off for tax purposes a significant portion of these costs. 90 percent of TAF fees for tickets are essentially a writeoff for taxes (80 percent as charitable, and 10 percent as meals and entertainment). 50 percent of the ticket cost themselves, plus the costs of the suites, food, etc, is a tax writeoff. 100 percent of the money given to TAF that is not for ticket rights is a charitable deduction.

As long as you have major companies advertise, buying suites, etc, nothing will change.

I have had four tickets in the south end zone for 17 years. Last year for me.

ETA 2018 should be the first in a long time where no one can bitch about not being able to get season tickets, and maybe good ones.

I hope LSU basketball is indeed trending up in a big way but the lack of a proper national search for a long term football HC is beyond irresponsible. Run properly LSU football is a 100 million dollar revenue generator.

That kind of a hire can not be determined by JA's whim or irritation with one of the two people he regards as a potential hire.

Frankly I can't understand how JA got a job at LSU after how badly he bungled the Duke Lacrosse scandal (another prominent example of him abandoning process and putting his emotional judgment under pressure ahead of normal due process).

My TAF priority point rank is right around 260 (out of approx 20,000 TAF members)-- and i agree with the OP... I dont see how any of this is sustainable... i have only ever known the team and the atmosphere to be competitive & electric since I've been attending games as an adult (not counting the dire years we had when i was a student), and have a hard time envisioning what things will look like when we are mediocre, now that the TAF and priority pt system has been established.. i havent completely given up on Orgeron yet, but if he doesnt manage a miracle, this whole thing will get ugly in a hurry... and i dont have any answers as to how to turn it around.

I agree! It is too similar to a pro game. Exhorbitant prices, pay for everything, canned blaring rap music, nothing but ads, etc. No longer a college atmosphere. Plus they are delivering a crappy product!

I haven't posted anything here since around 2013 but I have finally gotten fed up enough with this nonsense to speak up. The game experience from what is put on the field to all the BS with how these arrogant a$$ so called security treat the fans is inexcusable. Add to that having to pay full "tradition fund" for obstructed view seats behind the bench is another of the insults we have had to endure to try to watch my school play football. People like this useless Aleva have ruined what was once something quite special. I will give it another season or so but having been a fan since the 1960's, I can honestly tell you that Tiger Stadium is only a shell of it's former self.
